Moon disappears tonight

Just a lunar eclipse tonight. Nothing really special or anything. HA! There won't be another until March of 07! Other pics and info here

Can you image a place where there is no moonlight? Would all the romantics shrivel up and die? Moonlit walks would not exist, would they? Dinner by moonlight would not exist either. How sad. Oh well, time to pull out all the poetry about moons.

With out the moon itself, the ocean tides would be set off so bad many parts of the earth would flood.
With out the moon light, we would need more streetlights and that would need greater power consumption causing more pollutants and then we would need more lights to see through the pollutants and by that time, Kerry might be President and start drilling in Alaska for oil because of his plan to get off foreign oil.
Ahhh...ain't life grand?!

If there was no moon, people would have less light to see me skulking around their windows late at night.

I know the moon does great things for gravity, ocean tides and cool stuff like that but it's just weird how over time we come to find an eclipse a "regular" event.
Just thinking back in the way past where that type of thing was considered evil, witchcraft, god/goddess pissed off or some other supernatural kind of event.
Could one really be "normal" without moonlight?
