Re-opening of a crazy girls thoughts!

Celebrate your Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing PINK!!

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month, hence this site is Pink for the rest of the month. Do your best by showing off your Pink/support.

If you haven't seen me in awhile it's due to OT at work. There is just so much to do and not having a full-time person means more stuff for me. I have a part-time person working w/ me but this is his first time IT job. He has never worked w/ laptops in an imaging, re-imaging, repair, data recovery, and burning cds kinda place. Yes, yes.... I do all that and more!

The data recovery bit is pretty cool. Use knoppix which is pretty awesome. I suggest that all IT folks take a look at it. Best part, it's completely free!! One can back up the data to an USB external harddrive or the network. Like I said, it's pretty awesome. I thank the previous helper dude for that bit of great software intro.

I'd like to have him come back into the lab but he's very happy being on the JWI help desk. More power to him on that deal but then again that's his first time ever doing help desk. I think after 6 months he'll change his mind. hehe

In other good news, by the end of the month we will supposedly have a full-time position open in my lab. Need someone that does have hardware and software skills that match mine or exceed it. That means someone that has been doing imaging, re-imaging, hardware and software support, quick learner, some desktop support, and is willing to work with me. :D Yeah it will be fun but ton of work. Actually whomever it is will probably ease the tension from my shoulders having to do so much on my own.
I have to do all the repairs - testing the "broken" piece and calling/setting up the repair with IBM via phone or online, data recoveries, ordering of parts, creating purchase orders for repairs and tracking them, and then there is the actually replacements of broken hardware on a laptop - warranty and non-warranty. Oh did I mention I also do all the paperwork for all of the machines that come in and go out? Yeah there's more too. I keep track of all that in our call tracking system, asset database and repairs in a spreadsheet. Do the shipping of all the laptops to all the offices w/in the states and Int'l.

On a more fun note, I work at Planet quite a bit this month and a few days next month. I so like working there, not only for the cash payouts but for the free stuff too. hehe You all are more then welcomed to come out and boogie.

Personal note: Happy 5yr anniversary to me. It was Oct 15th that I signed a one year lease to an apartment that I was to have before my divorce was final and before the Ex knew what hit him. Hold the middle of April open for a really crazy party. Not sure where or the date yet but I just might have to leave the state afterwards. :D

Without being to wordy, is that really possible for me? I'll end with a question since I pretty much question everything, depending on who you talk to. hehe

The BIG Question o'rama: What's the best way to tell someone you would like to get your groove on with them?
