Mom Movie Date NIght

Had a movie mom date last night and we went to see County Strong. I'm not one for Country music but this was actually a good movie.

It's centered around a rising star(Garrett Hedlund) that connects with a falling country star(Gwyenth Paltrow) in rehab. They all do their own singing so that is nice reality to it. Now I thought this is the breakout role for Garrett but he has been in other movies that I've seen. I just didn't realize it was him which is very nice. If you check out the link above then you will probably have seen him too. I know if you are reading this you have-Troy and Tron: Legacy.

Garrett's portrayal in here is heartwarming. I believe it's his tenor/bass voice that will win most women over, if his hazel eyes don't first. Local radio station DJ stated that he trained with/taught by Tim McGraw, if that is true then he is a great guitar and Country-way teacher. He needs to start teaching classes. However, from what I saw in this movie, I would love to see more of him in movies. He had a solo in this movie that I did and didn't like. What I liked about it is that I wanted to see more of it. I feel we should have seen more of his character. It would have showed more in the relationship between his rehabbed wife.

Tim McGraw does a great job in here but I believe his best scenes are probably on the cutting room floor. I predict that he will have a movie career like Will Smith. I would say Tom Cruise but I doubt he will be jumping on Oprah's couch taunting his love for someone. When he dances with Kelly it shows how the two characters can come together for a moment but the moment can pass quicker than you think. It can also show how so much of a situation can came between you and be too much to handle/deal with at the same time.

Men take note when Beau answers the door in a towel with the girl he likes is on the other side. If we are there, we don't want to say what needs to be said necessarily but asking us what we want a few times before kissing us can get you a prize.

I know Gwyenth sang at the Country Music Awards and was a big hit; however, Garrett will probably be dinned by Record companies. The soundtrack will probably do very well. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the songs become hits on Country and Pop charts. Gwyenth does a duet with Huey Lewis or something and it is not bad. I wouldn't say it's a hit but does give her creditability then again it doesn't hurt that she's married to someone that is in the music business-Chris Martin/Coldplay.

I haven't given too much of the movie away but hope those that read this go to see it and purchase the soundtrack. It will be a high grossing movie, songs will be hits and will rocket some one's career or two.

Next adventure is the C2E2 in Chicago's McCormick Place. If you can be there, I say do it. It's a blast if you like Comic books.

Home bound for a bit

Well the trips have stopped but only for about a month and half.

San Diego was good. Mom and I hit: Comic-con, USS Midway, and the San Diego Zoo. With the help of a family friend that lives near by, Oceanside, we had a 3 hour tour of the area. We got to see areas we could only get lost in if we went past the ocean area. All pictures are on Facebook. They are not in order but hey be happy I got them up somewhere to be seen. :)

The Con was awesome. I can see where folks go nuts and just spend days and days there checking stuff out. Not to mention the amount of celebrities. We didn't check out any panels or stand in line to get autographs but we had fun seeing and meeting people. The guys from New Jersy behind us in line were really cool about it all. They were veterans at the Con and the people watching.

At Chicago's Comic-con I met some really nice guys and we chatted for a bit. Met them at the Hotel and just struck up a conversation. I have one of their posters - Britannia and home that Matt does a series. I still can't believe he did the whole thing in ink. It's just so gorgeous! Check out their site. I don't believe it's on the website but Jake's stuff is.

Next years big event in the Midwest. Chicago's Comic-con is still going to happen but this has the big publishers here.

The next adventure is to Ho-chunk. Jen has some convention thing of her own there and I get to help. My contribution is driving up there in my brother's van. He's got a sweet ass van too. It would be cool to have some of you readers there. I think we're makin it a weekend of it but I'm not sure. I didn't book the gig.

Speaking of which, I now have access to the airline system that my company uses. I just have to do some training on the site to do to become familiar with the process. Another big event that I would like to get more too is a weekend in Vegas - October 16th to the 19th. Let me know if you are interested in going. It doesn't matter where or what state you currently live in, I can do it! :)

Vacation is going to be so great!!

I contacted Loews Coronado hotel a couple of days ago via their website. Letting the concierge know what I want to do and one of the already planned functions. I got a call back today. The person agree it was a lot but many of the things can be scheduled when we get there. I would have liked a massage or something already set for when we arrive but I'm going with his judgement on this. The best part, he is/was a Milwaukee native. This is going to be so exciting and really needed with the coming big projects at work.

So far Summer started really late, like the end of June. Since then I have been busy going out, working at Jen's, and just enjoying the events that only Milwaukee make available. Working at the Gardens most of June was fun and enlightening. Now I just have to get a chance to walk around the gardens for fun.

Summerfest has been terrific, then again it started with Bon Jovi opening night. I went once more, July 2nd pretty much right after work. Met up with a co-worker. He was there to see Judas Priest and I, 5 Card Studs. The Studs put on their regular show. It just wasn't for me in the Martini bar. Some folks were there to hook up, others to find a cool place to eat, and still others had no idea what was going on. That's just not my kinda thing. Walked around for a little bit and got a couple of temporary tatoos. Now I have a clue as to what I want to start with, instead of doing something huge and not liking the process. Eventually I joined my friend again and we watched Priest. It was nice.

Next few months will be busy as well. There are some other festivals, Bastille Days, Italian Fest, friend leavin the state-going to be really sad, Chicago Comic Con, State Fair, Arab Fest, Irish Fest, Zoo A la Carte and Ren Faire. Man it's going to be busy. If you want to come along, just let me know.

Oh I am also a travel agent in the making. I am training under someone that has his own business and has for some years now. A girl at work has been doing this for years with him while she works at the County. I finally get to put some of my traveling skills to use and make money from my favorite hobby. I already have a friend that is looking for a package deal to Vegas in the middle of October. If you are interested in joining that group - all male weekend - contact me. The more that attend the cheaper it is for all. I think it will be exciting. I might attach myself to the group just because I can. :) Not like I've not been there before but I would like to go again. Maybe make it two groups, one all guys and another all girls. Stay in seperate hotels and not really see each other while there. Only on the plane. Now that would be something!!

Now to end with a question like I usually do. So if you had a regret or two, would you still want to return in time to change the one or two moments?

Holy Cow - what a nice guy!

Welcome to my post surgery post. Ok that was a bit weird to write. Anyway, I'm doing really really great after my long ordeal. I'm back to work (have been for a month now) and it is really great to feel like a human again. Still have some work to do about moving around but I think most of that will disappear when it's been a year.

So yesterday, last night really, I met this pretty terrific nice guy. Bummer is that he lives in St. Louis. (You thought I was going to say he was married, didn't you?) He moved there about two years ago for his job and he seems to love both. I wouldn't mind just having coffee with him sometime. If most of you guessed that I don't do coffee you are correct, I do not do coffee but he might.

Well my brother is going to have his third baby but between him and his future wife, it will be their 5th child. I'm excited to have a new neice, more like a new baby to play with. Not that I don't love playing with my current and future neices and nephews since they are older; it just that the new neice is a baby. It's the small little cute girl clothes that get me. Love buying for a girl. Not sure what it is but I love it.

In closing, Are you doing your part to stimulate the ecomony? I know I have. I've been wonderful enough to spend almost all of my refund on fun stuff. Heck I'm going to San Diego in July with my mom. Then I plan on getting a Netbook. So there is my part. What's yours?

Surgery is all set

For those that do not know or I have not told yet; here is the story. I have been dealing with lower abdominal pain since the beginning of October. It started as level 9 then stayed at a 6. In the last two and half months all kinds of tests were performed and percosets taken. The last test was a specialty shot that targeted the Uterus.

I have fibrod tumors in my uterus (I know, TMI) so the specialty shot targeted them and I was able to live pain free for a month. It was a beautiful month too! Thanks to everyone that has helped me do all my chores (laundry, trash, mail, and cleaning) and just lifting my sprits when I needed it. I will still need those lovely services during my 4 to 6 weeks of recovery too. SO if anyone wants to help, I am/will be very very grateful.

So I will be having a lovely time in the hospital starting the 19th. I will be in for three days then off to the grandparents place for a week. They are so willing to babysit me for that time. Don't worry to much, I'll be going deaf while I'm there as well as insane. :)

When I'm able to work and lift like a regular person again, I hope to have a big bash at my place. I will let you all know about the fun and details once I'm able to sit upright in front of a computer.

Winter is so here

It's been some time since I posted something so here is the latest and greatest news.

Well the summer was pretty interesting. Had some fun in IL for most of the summer. Learned some things about myself and about another person. Ended that fun around the end of September.

Right around that time, I started to experience some pain that was just unbelieveable, for me. The medical fun continues to this day. I'm hoping for surgery in the next week or two. I'll be staying in for up to 6 weeks and kinda look forward to the mini-vacation. I would get into this more but some folks are a bit squimish so if you want to know more details, just email me or post a question.

Saw this in email today. i think all executives will be having this on their desk after the holiday season.

Speaking of the Holiday season, may you all have a fun, peaceful holiday. For those that will be driving around town or out of town, drive carefully since friends and family love you no matter what time you get there; as long as you get there in one piece.

So it's been a little over a month since my last posting....That's not so bad, really?

The latest is this: I have an IL "boyfriend". I met him online and it's not going to bad. Only see him about once a week. He owns his own business so he's quite busy. It's neat. Digging that he likes bigger women. Also met another guy from the same website. He's a huge teddy bear. Yep I see him too. ;) Told ya - NAUGHTY!

While I'm checking email one of them mentioned being Dissed?. Now I'm not one to hunt down an ex of any sort but sometimes one needs closure. :)

Worked some over time a few weeks ago and now I'm catching up on things I didn't do when I got home. ok Today is lazy day and hope it rains all day too. Might be more functional tomorrow but that is not likely either. hehe

Up coming events: visit ILBoy (that's what his nickname is)tomorrow or next weekend, have teddybear visit, Project Runway party on Wednesday, and continue to get the place in order for others to visit.

Finally I have energy!!

Wow I can't believe it's been 6 months since my last post. Well here's the 411 on why it's been so long.

For some time now, some years actually, I have been losing energy and well, my sex drive. I was only sleeping about four hours a night. This of course, does not make a lover of sleep very happy or content. So I finally found a new doctor and SHE agreed there is some issue. She felt that it might be Sleep Apnea.

Well after the test it was determined that I do not have Sleep Apnea. I do, however; snore to the point where I wake myself up. The doctor said Insomnia. I agreed. Duh! Told him that it's obvious I'm not getting enough air to stay asleep - not part of Sleep Apnea. He agreed with me. Asked if there was some way to see how much air is need w/ a cpap machine. There are two ways to move forward. Way 1: go ahead and setup a trail test and see what results come of that. Insurance will not pay for it since it is not Sleep Apnea. Way 2: Get some theraphy to help work out the Insomnia. Insurance will pay for this.

I voted for the Cpap machine and if that doesn't work, I'm all for the theraphy afterwards if I will need it.

Well I've been on the machine for about 2 months and love it! I sleep about 6 to 8 hrs a night. I'm so less crabby then before. I have a libedo again. It's not like I'm back in full swing but I like sex again.

Well my nephew crossed over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. My brother cried, my nephew cried and me and my family thought it was cute as hell. My brother also "crossed" over. He retired as the Cub Master for my nephews troup. He got a standing O. Many of the other scout leaders will miss him. Mostly for him being younger. They liked his fresh ideas and drive.

My nephew is in the pine wood derby reaces for his Troup. The races were this last weekend. This was his last race as a Cub Scout. I couldn't find out what time all the fun started but the bro wasn't coughing up the goods. Me and the g-folks got there around 11am. I told them and knew it would be a long day but they still didn't believe me. Well bro was a far cry from the NEW welcome center so we pretty much stuck around there. The races were going to be there anyway in 2.5 hrs. My mom showed up about 1.5 hrs later.

Since I was so clever about the event being all day, I picked up all kinds of fruit from Outpost and bread from Breadsmith. The night before I cut up some of the apples, plucked the grapes off the vine, washed the rest of the apples and the bananas. Once we picked out our front row spots, we dug in. Kids loved it when they had a baggie of grapes. The rest of the family were little pigs. It was great. They ate up the grapes, cut apples and Hummus like there wasn't any left to be had. Most of the bread disappeared too. It was a good fun day. Oh yeah...Jake came in first for the district backwards and 5th over all, backwards as well. Not a bad way to end the Cub Scout year.

This weekend is Pridefest and Denis Sullivan returning. I might be hitting Pridefest tomorrow night and will be attending the fun at the Discovery World pier. Here's hoping that all stays dry and sunny.

Will be working some OT starting the 16th so if anyone wants to start something after work, I won't be able to join til around 7p.

ah memories

For the last two nights I've had dinner with some friends I haven't connected with in a long time. Wednesday night was Patty. My best friend from High School. Now she knows stuff others don't. Even more than Jen. If you know me and have met Jen then it's pretty hard to imagine that someone knows more about me than Jen does. Patty's the one that does and has kept it for all these years. I even introduced her to her now husband.

Tonight was a friend I met while I was with CompuCom, placed at Baird. He was a desktop tech for the Day traders at the time. I was there for their rollout. I was eventually moved to their special software install team. Well all of the contractors and the desktop folks had to do the Chicago office. At the time I was done with therapy and slowly developing my plan to leave the now Ex. Anyway, Chris was friendly, super sweet, and HOT. He's still Hot, super sweet but he's mellowed a bit more. I guess having some kids will do that to ya.

It was good to catch with both of my buddies. Things between Patty and I have changed. I know most folks do overtime. It could be that she's pregnant so of course priorities, goals, and desires are completely different. It just seems weird between us.

The new Mac commercial was on. Frickin loved it!!!

I might finish this thought another time. CSI is almost over and I'm tired. night y'all!

If you haven't seen The Golden Compass, I would suggest you have a movie night. It is something to view. My mom and I totally loved it. Neither of us have read the books (series) but enjoyed it nonetheless. You get the point of the movie/books by watching this movie. It's just like Da Vinci Code but I read that before I saw the movie. My Daemon: Gabriel-Snow Leopard It shouldn't be too much of a shock to anyone. He's a little cutie too.

Another good item to watch is Tin Man on the SciFi channel. It's so much the updated Wizard of OZ story. Very nice. Love the update on the characters.

Holiday season has started

There was black Friday and now black Monday. I happened to avoid both days without too much trouble. Except for the part about going back to work.

It has been a long week today. Hope the rest of the week isn't like today. I am now the SMS administrator. I'm excited yet scared out of my undies. I would probably be more comfortable if I knew SMS better than I currently do.

Feb 7th is the Wines and Beers of the World at the Zoo. So if you want to go for $40 /person then you will have to let me know by the end of January. I'll send an email to those that are in the inner circle/have expressed interested in the past.

The writers strike has interrupted Prison Break but not my other shows so far. Anyone have their favorites shows repeating or stopped all together?

Spanking?!

Just looked at when I last posted something and I so need to be spanked. :D

I was surfing the web at work and noticed this little ditty on MSN's front page. So when and how was YOUR first kiss? I know we all have more than one first kiss, since I'm sure we've kissed our share of frogs. But is there one that moved you? shook you? melted every bone/flesh in your body? Spill the beans people! My best story is at the bottom of this post ;)

Here are a few things that have been happening over the last couple of months. 1. I love where I live - big time! It's quiet, there are no drugs in and outside of the building being used, sold or bought, no one knows when I'm home, no one knows when I've left and it's QUIET! No one is yelling down the hall around 10pm, no screaming in the hall cause they're fighting with the drunk guy four doors down, and no loud talkers - deaf not so old people.

2. The movie theatre near my apartment has might night movies. Does that rock or what?! Nov 9th and 10th is Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D!! Nov 17th is Young Frankenstein (that's frank-in-steen to you). Nov 24th is The Goonies. Could it get much better?! It does - cost is only 6 bucks to get in, they have great buttered popcorn, and server booze! See it's so worth walking those 2 blocks to get there. Did I mention I walk two blocks to get there? Can you bet that?

3. Had an emergency root canal done about a month ago now. Two weeks before that I my wisdom tooth pulled. I've heard the jokes and yes, I'm more blonde now than I was before - haha. For part of September and most of October I wasn't talkin or going anywhere that I didn't have to. If you're feeling a bit blown off by me, it was cause of the mouth issues. I say enjoy the silence cause I'm walkin' and talkin' now. hehe

4. Still working at Waukesha County Court House. Lovin it. Doing SMS packaging. Never did that before coming here so it's something new and fun. Kinda hope I will be doing just that and not tech work. Yep, I like it more than fixing machines, go figure. I guess I'll have to change my searches on Yahoo and alike to look for jobs with opening for that type of work. I'm no pro or anything of an expert but I'm decent.

5. Read Stephen King's new book - Lisay's Story (cover above). It was confusing at first since it's not a straight out story telling type tale. Of course it was different like only Stephen King can be, not gory like some tales of murder.

6. Napped as much as possible. You know naps are good for you, right? They make kids do them in kindergarden I believe. Well they did when I was little, I think.

7. Oh yeah, I'm 39 now too. My bro is 38. They body does terrible things as we age, like it doesn't respond well to, well, almost anything you ask of it. Knees are creaking more, gray hairs multiply/breed faster than one remembers, and the memory goes caput at the drop of a hat.

8. Most importantly - my best friend Patty is pregnant! Congradulations Dan and Patty. She's due in Feb. Probably right around her birthday too. Can hardly wait. This is their first. Patty's already a proud Auntie so a mum shouldn't be all that difficult for her.

THEE KISS: My best and most memorable first kiss, was with a friend of mine. I can't give all the details since I haven't told him how much I LOVED that kiss. Here is some information. I surprise kissed him - I rarely ever do that and haven't since - by grabbing him and forcing my lips onto his. When he kissed back - man did everything melt. I mean I didn't know if anyone but us exsisted, time stood still and everything from head to toe ended up in a puddle in the curb. Dang that was some kiss. Now go on and post.

Huge THANKS to all that helped out on the very hot hot Saturday. I unfornately got heat stroke early in the game but of course, being the really great friends that you all are, everyone stepped up their game for the long haul. It was way longer than I ever expected. I suspected about four hours for the whole deal. It would have been close; however, due to scorching high heat it was well over the time frame. Hope the Saz's food was a good treat. I know the ribs were gone in no time. I guess I'll get more next time and no turkey.

Now I'm in this huge drug free building that is so quiet I only hear peeps in the hallway maybe once a day. I have the sound up on receiver to whatever volume I want and only disturb me and the babies. Of course there is some re-arranging to do but for now I'm a happy camper. The babies are getting used to the creeking floor and the loss of grip they normally would have on carpet. It's so awesome to see them try to get some control when running thru the living room. If all works out, I'll have some little party there to kind of show off the place once I get everything in some kind of order.

Other (cute) news: my cute little furry neice is doing well. She still doesn't have the front legs coordinated with the back so when she runs it's more of a hopping motion. Wickedly adorable yet. To me at least. She's growing strong and slowly elongating like she should. She will pretty much be a runt due to the lack of momma's milk. That's ok. Our family seems to like the runts of a litter/family. Don't have any updated pictures of her. :( I hope to take some this coming Saturday when I see her for a few mintues before the trip (I'll explain further down).

This weekend is a treat. Heading to Green Bay for some meet the Players dinner. Not sure what the real title of the event is but I do know my bro paid some big bucks for the tixs. I know we'll hit the casino up there for a few hours if not more then move onto the event. I guess were staying over night Saturday and coming back some time Sunday. It should be interesting. Now I just have to find that Digital camera to take the pics. I know it's in a box somewhere. Then again I really don't have a machine up and running to download the pics too. Oh wait, I can use one of the three computers here at work. "Oh I love it when a plan comes together." hehe

Well you heard it here first. I don't have my computer up and running. I might not have it running in the new place at all. One of the disadvantages of an older place is older outlets and not too many outlets either. I was going to have it against this one small wall so that when sitting in front of the computer, one would be able to look into the living room. There is no outlet there. The outlet that is in the little room (aka dining room) is on the wall opposite the kitchen. It's also a two prong outlet so a power strip really won't work there. I'll have to come up with another plan for where to put the computer and where to plug it in. I'm not sure the apartment can handle a computer, microwave, entertainment center and/or air conditioner on at almost the same time. It should make things a bit challenging but it should be a good push to use that otherside of my brain (creative side, I mean).

Thanks go out to Lisa for trying to get rid of some stuff on Ebay for me. If anyone is interested in some A20 modem cards, let me know. I have a ton. I have some comics too but I'm sure I can sell those to a comic store that I go to and get some store credit that I probably could use the same day.

Work is ramping up for the migration that is to start September 1st. They haven't tested all the standard software in the new environment let alone some of the different department standard software. It's kinda f'd up but at least it's still on track! It'll be interesting to see if they are going to have just the four of us doing the reimaging and setup up of machines or a team of migration workers in here at night. I heard those details haven't been worked out yet. Ok it's not a really giantic migration. Just over 1200 machines. Part of the problem is the clearance needed for the sheriff and jail areas. I can understand that being a problem but not knowing if you are going to bring in others to do the migration at night or not? That I do not get. There is only one month left to have it all figured out and only yesterday did they have a tenative schedule of the departments and dates printed out for some of the folks.

Well on that note, it's almost time for lunchy and I have to get some outside time in the yard. I must have been watching too much Prison Break. Can't wait for next season to start up again. I'll save my comminatary for another posting for another day.

Once again a somewhat modern marvel brings me disappointment in my college career selection. :) Here is a great find for a company. To find so much on galleon ship is just remarkable. Oh the envy! Here's to hoping those pearls hit the market one day. :D

Other great news, my bro found a baby kitten in one of his basement windows. He's currently feeding it with an eye dropper but it should be moving to a little shallow bowl pretty soon. He said it's shaking when it's standing so it doesn't have it's muscles built up just yet. Oh the cuteness of a spanking new kitty. I guess it doesn't meow much so that makes it almost perfect. Found out it's a girl and they named her Comet. Now that is perfect. Hope to see the baby today after work so maybe I can get pics up either tonight or tomorrow.

The move day has been determined. It won't be the slow move like I wish but a four hour one fell sweep works too. The big day will be JULY 7th. I'll shot an email to the very helpful movers next week with a reminder before the big 4th of July celebration. I'm thinking of 8am. I know it's early and trust me I'm not a big fan of this time frame either. I rather have it all done before noon than doing all this in the blazing heat. The winning prize??? Pizza and Beer. Well maybe not pizza....but definitely food and Beer.

Was watching The Lake House again. (I would post a link to the movie's website but I'm not able to from work.) I'm not sure what gets me about the movie but I totally love it. I have it and have watched on cable more than I have pulled out the DVD. So here are my big freak items about the movie. One: Keanu Reeves Second: Sandra Bullock Third: various parts of the story Fourth: the whole concept Fifth: the writing back and forth. I could really go on and on about the movie but I won't for fear of boring my few readers. :)

So in the spirit of the previous paragraph here is my question for ponder. If you have or will write a letter to your intended/intending partner, how would you start such a letter? (Hey babe doesn't count.)

Time to Dine out for a cause

The Dine Out 4 Life is June 14th. Make sure you get out there if you're not going out with me to some place!! Since I work new hours I'm thinking of some place that requires more than jeans. Also should try some place that one hasn't been to before. It's a great way to get a feeling for the place while helping out a great cause. Keep that in mind folks. :)

I posted before my new hours so I have enough time to get home and change or if doing something around 5 or 530 I can bring a change of clothing with me. I'm kinda digging these new hours. I might change my mind once colder weather kicks in but for now, it's awesome!

Summer festival season has started. Last weekend was Riversplash. I was busy with my cute little nephew's Boy Scout/Cub Scout derby car races at the Zoo on Saturday. He did pretty well. Out of 60 cars he took 3rd place. That meant he had to come back the next day to compete with another 60 cars that were from 5 other Milwaukee Districts. He placed 8th on those runs. Way to go cute little nephew!!

This weekend is PrideFest with Kathy Griffin tomorrow night. Taste of Summer in Waukesha. It started yesterday and goes until Sunday. Saturday has the BandSlam Battle Royale in Washington Park. Sunday is the Locust Street Festival. Get your party on there if'n you like to be part of a big block party. Heard in the past it's been fun. Oh the small Greek church is having their Festival this weekend. It's off of 76th and near North Ave. I'll be there around noonish on Saturday. I'll be with the family if you want to come and have some good Greek food. I guess Sturtevant is having their Strawberry Festival next week (11th to 17th).

There are quite a few concerts/acts showing up here this summer so get out there while you can. Enjoy the weather everyone!!

Some changes are a happin'!

Let's start with big news first.
I still work at the Waukesha Court House but instead of working at 8:30 to 5:30, it's 7:30 to 4:30. This is just in time for summer. It's going to be great getting home early to be with my babies and drinking in all the warm air.

Second piece of great news: I'll be moving at the end of June or early July. I can hardly wait. I'll be emailing folks (guys mostly) about this to keep it in the back of their mind. As the actual date gets closer I'll email everyone with the details. As per usual - pizza/food and beer will be provided once all is done. It shouldn't be all that bad since my plan involves getting most everything there and only having the big/heavy stuff for the actual moving day. If all fails it will turn from a no more than 2 hour move to a 4 hour move. I don't have too much stuff that would make it an all day move.

New place is cute. I think so anyway. It has a bit of that eastside charm, mixed with old building/house structure to it. Mostly hardwood floors everywhere. The bedroom has carpeting. Kitchen is small, only one cabinet but it's really long (the length of the apartment). It has a door coming into the kitchen and a window at the end of the room. Hence the reason that it's like the eastside to me. Grandfolks find it odd but know it's an older building. They'll be going to estate sales to look for a hutch. Now they have a little project to keep them busy. Grandpop likes that stuff.

There a "dining" room area but I think I'll keep that as the puter room with exercise machine. Right now I use my dining room table as a craft table so I'll just keep it that way. If I remember right, there are like 3 windows just for this little area. It doesn't have any really long walls to close it off so it will be great to do something in there and still be able to watch TV or hear the stereo.

Living room area has about 5 to 6 windows to it, two long walls - one that is on the opposite side of the bedroom and the second has the hallway on the opposite side. I would think the entertainment center could rest on the second wall and have the couch up against the windows. That would leave quite a distance between the two largest objects in the room. Best part is that my view will be 60th street - oh yeah I'm in the building on the corner of 60th and Washington Blvd. I don't think it's high traffic but then again I did get used to airplanes flying over; so I can really get used to cars slowing down for the stop sign. It's going to be so nice to have so many trees around for my little babies.

On with the description of the place. The next thing I remember is the little bathroom. It's are wide as the tub but is long enough to get a sink and toliet into it. hehe It's a bathroom! What more can one say?

Bedroom is huge!! It's bigger than the one I have now - not like anyone that reads now how big of a bedroom I have now. I can tell you that it will fit my huge king size bed, the dresser, and the little chest I have too. I'll have room for so much of something else. Heck if I know what tho.

Well that is all that I can think of for now and I'm sure this is a long post. Have a great time is all this lovely warm weather.

Ah Spring is here or is that Summer?

It's a warm Sunday and I'm indoors, resting. :)

It's been a bit over a month so time for an update of sorts. This weekend wasn't too bad but packed for me. Friday night was Opera, Saturday was massage and going out for drinks with some of the girls from high school and Sunday was just going to be rest/packing/laundry.

The opera was awesome! The Barber of Seville was the last in a series. Loved how the character Figaro was portrayed. The actor/singer had a strong and quite the baritone voice. The Count was played out well but I could hardly hear the singer. I wasn't in the top balcony; I was in the M row which isn't too far from the stage. Rosina the woman in the middle of all this was decent. I love a good soprano voice like the next person but she wasn't all that great to look at nor hear. She was too skinny to be believeable as a love interest for the Count. I feel if she gained like 20 to 30 pounds her protruding collar bones wouldn't be so much of a distraction and it might actually improve her voice. Make it stronger actually. At one point it was as if she was screetching. I know mezzo soprano isn't supposed to hit the top high notes but dang! Any trained singer will know how to bring it down to their top note. I guess overall Figaro was the one that brought it all together and made it worth watching/listening.

I'm not sure why Saturday started at 6am but there it is. Up and wide awake. Kids were excited by that fact. Of course after an hour they were back in bed. I figured I might as well put the time to it's best use. Had a few things to eat so I wouldn't get too hungry around massage time. At 8am I was in the laundry room putting the favorite blankets in the washer. Change the bedding then moved on to other things that need to get done. Yes it's true, I'm looking to move out of my slum of an apartment bldg. Now they are renting to folks that have little kids and I found out - they allow dogs. I'm not one for too much exposure to little kids or yippie dogs but to have both living next door to me; is a major recipe for murder. Everyone keep your bond money near cause I might be calling ya in the next couple of weeks. So to help me get more prepared for moving out, I decided to pack up all the glass shelves so that they are padded to my satisfaction instead of done in a hurry. Doing all that - laundry and packing - took up most of the day. I was very surprised.

Massage was pretty good. Went to Apple a Day Spa since that is were I went last year for a relaxing massage. I wasn't able to get the same person since he had left some time ago. Jay was my massager for the hour. By the way, the spa moved down the street to a bigger area. It doesn't have all that great parking but then again it didn't before either. Still a relaxing place to go so check out the website above.

Headed out around 8pm to meet up with one of the girls from high school. Looks like the other two girls couldn't make it then again my friend Patty and I are about the only ones without children. We had a great time just catching up and chatting about nothing. A few drinks in us and a pizza split between the two of us. How could anything not go great? I ended the night around 1130. Hey I did pretty good considering that I didn't take a nap all day. Got a call from Jen as I was headed home. Her future hubby was taking the train home from IL and it broke down. I offered to pick him up but by the time I called, the bus showed up. Ah now it's just time to get home right before midnight and hit the all waiting comfy bed.

If anyone knows of a duplex available for rent in the following areas, please let me know. West Allis, Wauwatosa, or Washington Heights area. I'm sure there a few other areas I just can't think of any right now.

What I have I been doing all winter long or in my spare time? I have been doing LOST puzzles. The picture to the far left is the 4th one in the series. I now have them all glued and just need a blue light to have the back viewable. There is supposed to be some hidden message on the back of the puzzles to reveal some super secret this season. There are only 3 episodes left to this season finale and it's getting better and better every time. You should just check it out. You might just get hooked on being on a dessert island. hehe

Spring is fast approaching

Sorry for the long time between posts but I guess it's been crazier than I thought.

I was helping the grandfolks move for two months. They tried to do a lot of it themselves instead of having movers do it. Find that silly, since it would quite costly to have movers in the first place. Might as well make 'em work for that $150 / hr. Of course they were also not so organized about the whole thing too. They figured just getting the stuff there would be enough instead of actually figuring out where everything goes right away. It made everything take longer and made thing just more stressful. I still get, "We should have moved in together. You and I would have saved money." I'm not sure how much money I would have saved since my liquor bill/going out fun would have tripled.

On a more positive note, Johnny Mack is now married. Poor Lisa Mack (LOL!!). She now has the duty of putting up with John on a permanent basis hehe. I'm sure he's not that bad to take daily. Loved it when the priest referred to John as Uncle Bacon. That was so cute. Bride's mom (Debbie) looked HOT!! Loved the dress! The ceremony was pretty standard and really nice. The ending was no so standard - a bagpiper came in to do a tune. very classy.

Now about that reception - hehe. Cake was high and beautiful with the roses between layers. It was also nice to see quite a few of the faces from back in the day of getting together. (Maybe we should all try to get together every couple of months or something.) The wedding party did their grand march in a not so formal fashion. Frickin' loved it. The ladies wore green converse shoes and the men were in Kilts. Yeah, guys in shirts. Dug it like nobody's business. Cake cutting was the next order of business. The first piece was done nice and respectful. Of course the second piece was not; now there is the folks I know. Moving on to dinner - food was delicious, there was the standard bride and groom kissing encouraged by glass ringing. John and Lisa moved about the tables after they ate and greeted everyone. After was dancing. I have some pictures but i have to get a cable to download them. I'm hoping I got a decent one on the dress since it was pretty frickin awesome. If not, I'm sure there will be some professional ones available on Johnny's site.

Many of you that are regular readers, also live is this frozen tundra of a state. The temperatures around here the last four days have been beyond everyone's comfort level. Heck, Milwaukee even made it on Good Morning America this morning. Normal "warm" temperatures for me around this time of year would be around 50's. The last four days have been extremely under 50. It's been negative # with windchill numbers also in the extreme negative (like 40 below). This then makes it even colder outside and dangerous. As Dr. Evil said, "Throw me a frickin bone here!" I want warm weather. Yes I know I'm in the wrong state for temperatures to almost always be ABOVE 60 but I currently don't have any other option.

Enough whining about the temps. Now on to more exciting news. I had planned to go to the Zoo's Wine tasting but it sold out quite early as a matter of fact. Too bad but it's a good thing too. It's good for the Zoo.

Friday night is out with all kinds of folks. It'll start with Epic Movie with a co-worker, I'll move to eats with some friends that will be in town-at Cafe LuLu's, then move on to Planet for some decent boogieing. Now of course if it's really frickin cold, I'm going no where. Cold sucks!

Saturday should keep me outta trouble for some time too. Helping the g-folks again. Can't wait for them to move so they can not be "on the way home". Not like they are now but for some reason they think they are. I love how they complain that they are so tired from all the packing but it's their own fault due to the fact they have so much crap. They get a two bedroom apt so they can store their excess crap. A lot of the stuff is nothing that the rest of the family wants. We've tried to get them to get rid of it-mostly due to the whole packing aspect-but they are stuck on keeping the items; feeling that they are collector items, we'll change our minds or some other excuse. Remember it's only as valuable as someone's willing to pay for it.

For the evening entertainment - shows are doing the second half of their season now. Lost starts tomorrow night so don't call me. :) Bones and Prison Break started up in the middle to end of January. Oh my Monday and Wednesday nights are full of eye candy heaven ;)

It's been an interesting December. Hope yours has been filled with much fun and excitement as one can stand.

I've been driving my new little car now for about a month and put 1200 miles on it already. I suppose it could be more if I was doing some consulting at various locations. I do like working at Waukesha Court House. The folks are interesting and the freedom to research and learn new things hasn't been available in, I don't even remember when. The IT folks I work with seem to like me. Maybe they don't know that I've supported more machines then they have in the entire organization. That's ok with me. I am loving this slower pace.

Friday night, the 22nd, was a night spent having fun at Mad Planet before the New Year. Billy Idol Matt showed up. I was so surprised to see him. It has been about a year since I last saw him. He's got a girlfriend now or he was putting his hand in a strange girls' pants pocket. Hopefully you'll be around more Matt! Otherwise stay in touch with either me or John.

Speaking of John. He recently had his bachelor party in Vegas. Way to go!! Glad to hear you had a fun time. We were able to do a little catch up at lunch on the 22nd. I was cool enough to take a break from my important and pressing movie time... I mean projector testing duties. Be Cool was actually hilarious and hoped that no one heard me laugh too much.

The 16th was filled with doting on my babies. Yep it was time for their haircuts again. Once I get my new 'puter up and rolling I should be able to post shots of my cuties sporting their dos. They are so so adorable. Right now, my boy is giving his sister a bath in the sun. Ah pets.

Christmas was pretty awesome for me. My bro was cool to give me cash and the Priates of the Caribbean #2 DVD that included a soundtrack. G-folks gave me a little more cha-ching with some decent presents and Mom gave me a gift cert to Brookfield Square. Now I just have to spend it all. Ooops I already did from the comfort of my computer chair. Yeah the funds were burning a hole in their envelopes. Overstock does have some sweet deals. I'll be the lucky receipent of: Lost season 2, Medium seasons 1 & 2, Prison Break season 1, and Bones season 1. I hope to have some quiet next weekend to watch all this DVD goodness.

Jen's bro was sweet to get me iTrip so I can listen to my iPod in my car using my car stereo. If you looking for something like that, I whole heartly recommend going to overstock.com to get it. They do have some deep discounts and don't forget to surf for some online discount codes.

Well I'm off to watch more movies on TV and possibly take a late nap. If you don't have plans for New Year's, stop by Mad Planet for 80s tunes, free champagne, and some eats.

Happy Turkey Day!!

O such much has happened since the last post. So read carefully to catch up. :)

Good gravy I hadn’t realized it’s been two months since my last posting. Dang!

September: Ok so I took some days off in the middle and towards the end of September. I was supposed to go to Utah – Sundance – but due to unemployment being extended past my personal deadline, I was financially unable to attend the fun. Not a huge problem. I had a good time here.

Hit Chicago to check out MicroSoft’s Vista (Aero). That was pretty cool. To have everything that the new OS offers, you have to have a pretty loaded system to take advantage of all the OS features. This demo didn’t crash or anything that seems to happen to Bill Gates. However, the power did go out in the movie theatre a couple of times. I thought it was pretty cool. It would have been more fun if I got a free movie pass but hey a cd with Vista on it is good too.

So I had a 20 year High School reunion. I was nervous and excited at the same time. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen some of those folks. I tried to keep up with some others but I lost touch somehow. I still stay in contact with my best friend. We don’t see each other that often anymore but we email or call now and again. Friday night was all you can eat pizza at Trysting Place. I’m not a big fan of the place since the food there is just ok bar food. They try to be a restaurant with a bar but it’s so not. I went early to have a drink or two before the festivities began. Good thing I did. It helped calm my anxious nerves.

Met up with folks that have truly changed. Some go by different names now and some have completely changed their personalities from when I knew them. I know we all change but not to say a happy hearty Hello when you see a friend again? Very odd on my planet. That’s ok; I’ll be nice and courteous. :D Some of the folks were actually apologizing for the way they were in HS. Hey we all were tards at some point. It turned out to be a little clicky but I was able to catch up with some of the folks that I did want to see again.

Saturday night was much more fun. It was a sit-down catered dinner at Davians. When people dress up they have a different way of acting. Not to mention some folks that didn’t show up Friday night showed up tonight. It was great. Good food and some dancing. After dinner was to be karaoke and dancing but not many did the karaoke part. Being the fun person that I can be, I was ready for dancing right after dinner. And yes, I was dancing to the “background” music while reacquainting myself with some of my old friends. They didn’t think it odd of me at all. Find that a bit strange since I wasn’t that outgoing back in high school or maybe I was and I didn’t see it that way. Hehe

Now the drinkers back in the day were drinking like it was back in the day. But this time, they couldn’t hold their liquor. A few ended up being completely trashed. It was pretty sad actually. Most of them have a spouse and kids and gave up that life several years ago. I enjoyed the new entertainment but I can be quite sadistic. :D Around midnight the party was over. The drinkers wanted to go to Pistol Petes for more drinking but most of us (my reacquainted friends) were tired from either working earlier that day or had kids to deal with in the morning. We opted for staying in touch and hopefully getting together again soon. We exchanged email addresses and phone numbers before leaving and genuinely hope to see each other again soon. Ah the memories of adolescence….some days I wish to do things differently and other days I’m so glad it’s over. May you all have fun at your High School reunions.

The following week I had three days off. I really was going to get some actual studying done. That was the plan anyway. I believe I spent one of those days actually on the computer reading about Active Directory and how it all gets started. I was thinking of doing the OS cert but remembered that it’s usually the hardest of all the certs. I love AD and can’t wait for the court house to get to windows so I can use it again. I might into the world of security but maybe just an AD administrator if that’s a job. I did learn quite a bit from the online training course and maybe over the holidays I can study a bit more.

October: This month was something else. I was able to pay my car off. Finally after six years of getting my financial act together I can pay this bird off. I can hardly wait!

I was having a ton of fun at work too. Learning how to create automatic installs of software for the Novell way of networking. I’ve never had the chance do that before so it was a blast to learn something new. They even brought in someone to teach us how to use and abuse the applications we’ll need. I was already playing with some of the applications and learning on my own since I didn’t have much to do in the way of support for my departments. I did learn during our training classes and wrote up some documentation so I wouldn’t forget too much.

I was and wasn’t looking forward to Halloween. I didn’t have a costume, I kinda wanted to wear something but then again I didn’t. I possibly had to work at Planet but it wasn’t in stone either. It all depended on how busy the club would get. I ended up working a little towards the end of the night. Emily, the regular glass girl, was getting swamped and needed help. Around midnight it was nearing capacity and stayed that way until the end. It was fun to see all the different costumes and how creative some folks can get.

The next day was Derby day. One of Jen’s friends, she’s mine to but I met her thru Jen, takes part of the Roller Derby that started up in Milwaukee. A few of her friends, started up a “fan club” and we cheer her on while she’s getting smashed around. It’s very similar to the movie Roller Derby but they don’t use an actual roller rink. The girls get darn violent at times. Still fun to watch. The groups of girls and the different fan clubs are all on My Space. Gosh just saying that I feel I need to put a condom on my computer. I know a lot of folks are on there and so are some bands, movie stars and whatevers but isn’t it just a free for all version of Friendster?

November: Now we all pretty much caught up on what was happening. Here’s the latest news. This last Thursday I was in a small accident. I’m ok but the car is not. I wasn’t too thrilled but not worried all that much either. Yeah it was paid off and I’m just waiting for the clear title so I normally would have killed whoever damaged my car. Unfortunately I could see the accident about to happen. Slowly watching it unfold before my very eyes. The best part is, the guy I rear-ended took off. Yep. He left the scene of an accident. It’s not like he didn’t know I hit him.

Ok here’s how it all happened. I was leaving work a bit late (it was after 6p) and was planning on going over to met the derby fan club girls near Bayshore Mall. I was on I-94 heading Eastbound and by the Zoo interchange when the guy in front of me stopped cold. My little car didn’t stop so suddenly like his truck so into the back of the truck I went. Boy did I stop suddenly then. I checked the rear-view mirror to find out if the car behind me will be hitting me. He was back a little farther than I was from the truck. So he was able to stop and not hit me.

The really best part of the accident; the jerk I hit, took off. No I didn’t get his plate but can tell you that it was a truck like a Ford Ranger, it was tan, it has a hitch and gold paint all over the tailgate. So the car got towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership’s body shop – Brookfield Buick Pontiac. The estimate is pretty high for repairs. Now I’m just waiting to see if they total out the car or decide to repair it. Either way, I’ll be getting a new car. There’s no way I’ll be driving a car that’s had two front end accidents.

Sorry to many of the folks out there that read this little blog now and again. I have been neglectfull of the blog and keeping in touch with you, the people.

I have been pulling away from people for a little while now. I have also not been reading or posting on websites in the last few months either. There are no excuses to give anyone nor should there be, in my opinion.

I have been doing some reflecting and soul searching. Most been bummed about being here in WI for another Winter season. Most of you that I have wanted to move to Southern California for some time now. Since the mini-vacation was extended some months my personal deadline, I was forced to use resources intended for the future move. I do hope to increase those resources once again. Until then, you all are stuck with me. :)

Still a bit bummed but dealing with the fact I will have to be here for the Winter. Also doing some soul searching on what I want to do with my career. That is my issue and I'm not too ready to discuss that just yet.

Now for some really funny news: My 20 year high school reunion is next weekend. I'm looking forward to it but not. I can't wait to see most folks and catch up on what has been happening. It should be interesting.

A quick summer look

Here are just a few of the highlights from the first half of this year.

Jan 3rd: First working day of the year - got fired due to personality conflicts. Not the best way to start the year but hey it was way better than working there. Sexist pigs!

From that point I started to enjoy what I called my mini-vacation. Was thinking that I would look/find a job around March and maybe get hired in April. I guess that meant I should have REALLY looked in March?

Mid-April: flew to Cocoa/Cocoa Beach FL - uncle was having medical issues. Turns out it was a highly allergic reaction to something. Only he will know what it might have been. It was only happening about 2 to 4 weeks before I got there. He was in the hospital the day I landed. Was in for another two days then I got to be nurse for a week and half. Not a bad vacation from the mini-vacation.

Hit the beach one day, got burned - big surprise, drove about 10 min to NASA-Kennedy Center. Did the big behind the scenes tour. Totally recommend that for anyone that digs space/space flight and the space station. Worth it to get about 5 miles from the shuttle launch pads and see peeps making parts for the space station.

Arrived home May 1st. Now I was seriously mostly looking for a job. Wanted one but didn't at the same time. Liked being home and doing my own thing and catching up on my reading.

Speaking of reading.... Books I've read to this point:
1st book while in FL - can't beat something that is popular and is only 5 bucks, Lost book 1, Lost book 2, Lost book 3
-granted the first 3 lost books don't add to the IQ points but they're a fun quick read.
Lost book 4
-recommend this book for those that like a little mystery.
Since Dan Brown wrote Da Vinci Code I had to read the book that proceed it. It started out slow but became interesting.
Another Lost type book. It was a book that was supposed to give incite into the "plot" of Lost but I don't see how it ties into the book at all.

Da Vinci code mentioned another book so I started to read that one too. It too starts out slow and very confusing. I read the preface which added to my confusion. Now it's a very very interesting book. It points out a lot of facts and connections.

There was also a couple of funerals in there and another trip to FL but I've already mentioned them.

Here's to having more fun in these next 6 months.

The highlights and steler Tina moments

Well I had this really long and great post about me being off for 6 and half months but somehow I lost it. :(

Here are the quick and dirty highlights of my time off.
I've read about 7 books, I took two French language classes and earned 3 CEU credits, and I'm more chilled then I have been in a long time.

Here are some Tina's made a fool of herself again moments from the new job.
Walked into the wrong bathroom only to be stuck there for a bit since someone was taking care of business.
I've received my first paycheck and haven't deposited it in the back in the last two days. doh!
Since I don't have my Sheriff's clearance yet, I've been sitting around not able to do too much. I just read about GroupWise and Windows Vista. I'm just waiting for the head to hit the keyboard while the director walks by, type of moment.
Another good one, since yesterday was a tornado watch/heavy rain afternoon, I didn't remember until I go to the car, that I had left my windows open just a tad so it wouldn't be too hot in the car. Let's just say, it will take about two days for the passenger seat to dry out.

I'm a working girl again!

Yes it's true. I'm back in the working world again. It all started last Wednesday. Actually the interview was before that, but you all know what I mean. Last Tuesday a rep from the contract place left a message on my home phone saying the client wants me to start the next day. They really loved me in the interview. go figure.

I'm doing desktop support for Waukesha County at Waukesha County Court House. It's pretty different from the business world. Bonus thing: they actually care about how much it costs and if it does what they need. They really don't want to buy something that doesn't do the job. Downer: They are using GroupWise v6.5 and will upgrade soon to GroupWise v7. Well at least they are on 2k and XP.

Oh if anyone gets a call from the Waukesha Sheriffs department about me, tell them positive things. :D I haven't done anything wrong (and gotten caught) but it's to give me security clearance for the job. Once I get the all clear, I can go and check out machines in the Jail, Bail area or even the Huber facility. Did I mention how lucky I am about this? hehe

Yes Foy did get married. Here's the proof. LOL!! He's on page 6. The upper right corner has a good bride and groom picture. He said his mom wrote the article.

Now here is a relation tip that is useful on a daily basis. At first I thought it was going to be a site for a new bar downtown; only to find out that it's for the Zoo. It's a Zooilogoical Society promotion website. Pretty cool marketing.

Adam and Rachel are now proud parents. Ava was born last Friday. Same day as my nephew only 9 years after him. :D She's very adorable.

More funerals ahead

Last Friday was ok. Hit a mexican/indian bar first. One of the girls that lives in my building works there. Not too bad of a place. Clientele isn't all that great but hey, I'm not one to pass up a free drink or two. :D

Headed over to Planet around 9:30. I know it's a bit early but the other place was starting to creep my out. I got to catch up with some of the bartenders that I haven't seen in like two months. (yeah it's been that long.) After getting nicely buzzed and it being around midnight, I decided to go home.

Sunday July 2nd was the 40 days thing for my Uncle. It was alright as far as a Greek church service goes. Tons of standing and not understanding much of what goes on. I think most of you would like the Greek desserty thing that is served afterwards.

July 3rd nothing was planned and if it was, it was cancelled. So I resigned myself to the fact I'd be home - nice and quiet. Then the call came in, the family was getting together at the Bro's for swimming and bar-b-q'ing. I am not one to pass up free food! Not to mention I'll be getting some swim time in too. It wasn't too bad.

The 4th was time down at Summerfest. Kinda looking forward to it, kinda not. Jen, a friend of hers and I went down. They wanted to see the Psychedelic Furs like really bad. So we got like first row. They excited and me ambivalent. Just wanted to check out what was on the grounds. Nothing too much moved me. Would like to see Pink but not like I want to deal with the crowds to do it, ya know.

OK ... about the more funerals part. My g-mom's sister is dying in Hospice. She has about 24hrs or so. She hasn't been eating anything or drinking anything in about a week now.

My cousin was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 8 months ago. He didn't do anything about it then so.... He now has trouble with his lungs. (btw, he used to smoke.) Some family members saying the prostrate didn't spread but I'm thinking it did. They told him he had about 5 months to live. For the family members that have seen him lately, they say he's losing weight. I'm guess it's not from dieting.

On a positive note, I'm so looking forward to my Sept vacation. I'm headed to Sundance baby!! I'll be enjoying the well known Robert Redford owned resort for a glorious 4 nights! I hope to get in some spa time as well as a little horseback riding. Unless it's extremely hot, I won't be missing MKE anytime soon. :)

That road trip is done

I hope I don't have to do another one like it. The most terrible thing about it was the really long drive in a very cramped van. Usually there is a lot of room in a van but not dad's. I was in the back seat most of the time. He's a pretty stubborn old Greek. He still thinks he's around 50 or so and can do the things he used to. I know it can be hard for someone to realize they are getting old and not able to do the things they used to; I think him falling has pretty much let him know that his knees/legs are not what they used to be.

Cleaning out the Uncle's trailer was something else. Every corner was filled with "rummage" items. There were a few items that were of value/interest. He had lots of tools that my bro and I will have to divvy up. He'll get most of the saws and drills and stuff like that; most everything else we'll spilt. I'm pretty cool like that. hehe

During my two weeks of non-Milwaukee time, my friend George (and wife) had their third baby. They already have a girl and boy. This time they had another girl. A big girl - 8lbs and 20" long. That's some big baby. I recently talked to Jen and she's doing fine. She doesn't go back to work until after Labor day. How cool.

Another party was being held while I was driving my way to insanity. John and Lisa had an engagement party. From what John has told me, it was pretty fun. I imagine anytime with Ericka, the kids and Mike would be a fun time. Glad you two had fun and received items that you wanted/needed.

Ok now for the great time to be had. Since most of the Uncle stuff is done and I kinda don't have to deal with the family that much now. I am more than willing to get so sloppy drunk this Friday. So feel free to join me in this event of rowdiness and fun. It will be at Mad Planet - of course - starting around 10pm. I love this place due to the fact that drinks are pretty cheap and blonde Brian the bartender pours them nice and strong for me. :)

Hitting the road w/ the g-folks very early Sunday. There will be a couple of long drives in between the rests. Not digging this drive down adventure. Rather spend the gas money on air tixs. Well it's not my money that is being wasted. I'm hopin to be back on the 23rd. Mad drunkinness will insue that night at Planet. If anyone one is willing to help me get to the point of blind, they are strongly encouraged. :D

Funny cat story for ya!

OK this I think is pretty damn funny. On the floor of my bedroom I have an open suitcase. (I was a bit lazy and I didn't put it away yet.) I've noticed that my babies have been going in there to take naps. I put a small towel in the bottom to make it a bit more "comfy". Well today they took one of the recently washed washcloths off the bed. I found it IN the suitcase. Around the area where they placed their head. I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw it. So that is the funny cat story for now.

My Florida uncle died

Not to start this post on a bit sad news but I thought I would let you readers know that I might not be answering the phone all that much or be around town. His body was found today in his trailer. He'll be flown up here later this week and do the funeral early to mid next week. I'll then have to fly down there to clean-up/out the trailer. The g-dad wants to come down and I'm thinking that would not be good. He's having a hard time now dealing with this.

On a more positive note - Saturday night was fun. Met up with Waiken and others at Oakland Gyros. As always, good chow. We then headed to Hi Hat for drinks. The conversations were across the board as they usually are and it was a ton of fun. It was good to see Waiken. If I don't see ya before you leave, take care brotha. Maybe when I actually get a chance to look for a job and land one, I'll try to come out and see ya. The city is pretty nice last I remember.

Got this in an email but found it soooo funny that I just had to share with everyone.

So I've been back since the 1st and been bombarded by the family. Hoping this week they can pretty much take care of themselves and just leave me just chill.

Waiken will be in town and is having a gathering on the 20th. Should be pretty cool.

While in FL I had a ton of time to read so that is pretty much what I did. Read The Da Vinci Code in like 3 days. Damn good book and now I can't wait to see the movie. Starting to read Angels and Demons just to kind of complete the "series". Maybe for Memorial weekend I can start on Holy Blood, Holy Grail. The authors of that book was suing Dan Brown for story infringement.

Let me take this quick moment to wish all the readers, I'm guessing there are three of you, a fun filled chocolate Easter bunny day.

Well like most Friday the 13th days, mine was filled with nothing but bad news.

First, the Uncle that was here about two and half years ago is now experiencing medical problems in Florida. Since I am the only person in the immediate family that has a bunch of free time, I am the chosen one. Yes, feeling like the luckiest person on the planet; I will be seeing the Florida skies starting this Tuesday evening. Flying out of O'Hare around 11:30 and getting to Orlando around 5pm. Then I'm so extra lucky that I get to drive a rental, for about an hour to Cocoa, to drop off said rental and get picked up by a friend of Uncle's. Then I get the pleasure of arriving at the Trailer Park. Yes I said Trailer Park. My Uncle lives in a trailer. Save the trailer comments for a night of drink, thank you very much.

Once at said trailer park, I get to drop off luggage, pick up boat of a car keys, and drive to some hospital to see said sick uncle. At this point, I know that he is having much trouble with some cellulite disease that is eating his flesh on his hands working up to his elbows. This is great news for a diabetic that doesn't really watch his sugar levels. The best part.... ready? Are you sitting down? Here it is: I will probably be there for two weeks. Not sure really when I'll be back, so far no one but me thought a one way ticket was a good idea. If it's not too terrible, I'll be back on the first; otherwise it will be some time (read: like a month or so).

Other great news, one of my great aunts went to a local/side hospital for chest pains. In the mean time she is taking care of her sister, another great aunt of mine, that is pretty much a 80 year old baby.

Ok enough of the great and fun news. Here's a little something that Waiken was so very very kind to share with me. I have only read about 5 or 6 of the stories, I have almost peed once, laughed til there were tears, and lost network connection due to the card getting removed from the flailing arms due to laughter. Read the Austin Road Trip first and then proceed downward after.

Yes, it will be another busy couple of days for me. Tomorrow I will be spending most of the day in front of a computer. Helping Jen out again and looking forward to lunch already. After that, a massage at Apple A Day. Thank goodness. My neck will be killing me by then. Off to get the back cracked and figure out if once a month is good enough or more visits are needed. I finally get enough of a break for Dinner before French class.

Good thing Tuesday is just lunch out with a friend and a movie or two.

Thanks to a suggestion from a friend, I will be opening a Kool-aid/Lemonade stand near the curb. Figure curb-side service will get me more customers. Besides, 27th Street is darn busy during the spring, summer and fall months. Actually, I'll start looking for work shortly. Summer is coming and I have lots to do so monies has to come from somewhere. :)

There is a big strike with Delta Airlines so you might want to change airlines or hold off for a bit.

Busy for unemployed

I can't believe that I've been so busy while being unemployed. Some of it's been fun but dang.

The latest started on the 26th. A friend of mine asked me to go to a Brahms concert with her. She didn't have anyone else that might be interested. I jumped at the chance. I'm not a major fan of the symphony but I do like a good concert now and then. hehe
Gay and I met up at the State Fair Park and Ride since meeting downtown was not really much of an option due to all the construction. I figured getting there a bit early would be the best since the construction has changed many of the route that are available.

Monday the 27th was another fun busy day. Had a chiro appointment that didn't take too long. Kinda cool since it leaves me a few hours before my massage. Massage was going to be at a place that was recommended by a few folks. I haven't been in the Bayview area in ages. My friend mentioned a bistro that recently opened so I figured that a little snack or light lunch before the massage would be a good thing.

I scheduled a hot stone massage at Apple a Day but they do a consultation before they begin. After discussing my lower back issues and tight upper back muscles, he decides that a regular massage with some hot stones in the really tight areas would be best. After that massage, I so wanted to take a nap. It was really relaxing.

Drove home for a quick rest before my french class a bit later that evening. It wasn't too bad of a class. I hadn't been there in two weeks but not much had changed. They've moved along in the book but I didn't have too much trouble catching up for the night.

Tuesday I went to Jen's place o' work to help her out for a few hours. Was thinking about a movie a bit later that night but decided that I rather just go home and chill out.

Wednesdays seem to be the non computer day I have for the week. It's a bit funny that I have to "schedule" a day off. It's a great day or rather evening for TV viewing. Starts with Bones, moves to Lost and finishes with The Evidence.

Thursday was another day home but far from slow. On the computer most of the day chatting and posting. Finalizing plans for Friday. I knew I had to run some errands that day so I tried to make it a full day.

Friday I started on my run of errands when I got a vm for lunch. Met up with John and some of his co-workers for lunch at Perkins in Brookfield. Afterwards, I headed to Exclusive company to pick up some dvds I ordered. They are classic comedy/sci-fi flicks. Maybe some of you folks heard of them - Down Periscope and Army of Darkness. Got a few invites to go out this night but was kinda looking forward to staying home. Thanks for the invites out but I had work at home I should be doing - didn't do it but I should have.

Saturday was mostly spent reading some mags to make room for more that were coming in the next couple of days. I usually get a few new ones at the beginning and middle of a month. Late afternoon and early evening were spent with John and Lisa at the house. John had planned a pre-b-day celebration for Lisa. She is finally turning 25. Granted she's still the baby of the group but now she's at the quarter century mark.

The party was fun and Lisa did get a bit "Tipsy" or was that "Drunk"? I don't remember what the definitions were on the coasters that John had out. It was good to see the May's and Gray's. It has been a long time since many of us got together. Thanks for the breakfast John!

Sunday was the day of the lost hour. It didn't help my sleep pattern at all and it did make for a long day. Got home, chilled for a bit, then it was nap city. Now if my G-folks could only remember that from Noon to 4p or 5p, I'm out cold BUT NO! The g-mom thought it was necessary to call the house, the cell, the house again, wait about 20 minutes, call the house AGAIN, wait another 20 minutes and do it again; it was all to tell me the nephew did well in the Boyscouts car races like last year. Yeah how is that more important than a non-crabby rested Tina? Of course I ignored the phone and got the messages later only to have her call me again around 6p. Egads they have to get some hobbies.

Monday the 3rd was not a taxing day but it was going to be a long day. Going over to Jen's to help out again for some hours then on to French class. Not sure if I have the chair in an incorrect position or me but man did my neck hurt after a few hours. Nothing a massage on Thursday won't cure. French class was a bit interesting. Teacher was having fun with us and what we like to eat.

Tuesday was another day with hours by Jen. But this time I only stayed for a few hours. Needed a break from all the data entry. That kinda stuff drives my eyes crazy after a bit. Hit Mayfair mall hoping to see 16 Blocks before it left the nice theatres. It didn't start until 730. I wasn't going to wait around from 230 until then. Caught V for Vendetta at 415 instead. So during my "waiting" time, I hit a few of the new stores there and got my nails done. The nails were getting a bit ragged and I didn't want to fix them up myself, so the 4 seasons nail shop seemed like the best place.

See one can be busy when happily unemployed. :D

It's been busy, go figure

The G-folks have kept me busy for the last two weeks with their being sick and not taking care of themselves. First it was the g-mom in the hospital, g-dad getting sick as well, they had to take him to the hospital everyday so he could tease, wryle up the g-mom, and complain about not sleeping. He couldn't sleep without someone else in the bed. So about the next to last night of g-mom in the hospital, g-dad slept here on the couch. Wasn't too bad since we were both so tired that night. Once they were home, I thought I was off the hook. I guessed wrong. The following Monday there was car trouble. So I had to spend the entire day with them again.

That day was not good. They hadn't eatin in like 15 hours. For diabetics it's not cool. The g-dad likes to argue when he's not feeling well. Another not good thing when one hasn't eatin in a long time. So I get the g-mom to the doc so she can get her blood work done. They give her apple juice and can't figure out how she made it that long without some trouble. I then call the g-dad to let him know we are done and he says he had trouble signing his name. Told him to get some juice from someone there at the dealership. He said hurry up and bring the juice. Ok that's a bit irrational since I don't care that stuff on me.

I've been on the go ever since. Getting up early and running around sucks. Maybe I was ok with it when I was working but now that I'm in chill mode 24X7, it's not that much fun. I like not having to go out unless I want to - like lunches with friends, chiro appts, and shopping sprees.

Well It's off to file my weekly claim. Have fun folks. :)

So it's been awhile but I've had a bit o'trouble with the G-folks. See the G-mom got really sick so I had to take care of G-dad for a few days. They both have Bronchitis now so they should be able to rest for a week or two.

Other than that, I've been working on getting my fall trip going and paying for all the stuff as much as I can at this time.

I'll be enjoyed my time off quite a bit. Able to catch up on a lot of my shows-Project Runway and CSI. Dig it quite a bit. Had lunch with a friend of mine yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory. God I love that place. She was fired from the old place about two weeks after me.

It's been pretty nice weather-wise the last couple of days. And yes, I'm lovin' it!!

X3s new folks are all covered in the latest Empire magazine. It also covers quite a bit of V for Vendetta movie info. Sometimes those Brit mags have something the US ones don't.

Food and Froth this weekend! I can't believe I forgot about this fun event! Anyone going?

Gadgets for those that like the latest thing: THEE Jacket, the new VOIP phone, and a new type of watch.

Cool movie coming out soon. Saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (#4) this last Tuesday. Definitely not what I expected. I will have to go see it again to catch everything that was presented.

Really cold Winter arrived!!

The last couple of days have been nothing but winter temps and climate. Thursday it did the rain, snow/rain, thunder snow mix most of the day. That evening it then turned to cold. Today took yesterday's cold and turned it to freezing cold temps. Have I mentioned I great it is not to leave the house in these temps?! No? Well let me tell you how cool it's been.

I've been able to take my time doing anything I want. I get my back cracked twice a week, take naps-like today-when I want, watch whatever I want when I want to, surf the net, read email, chat a bit with friends and read a ton of mag articles.

Most of what I've been watching the Olympics and old movies. I just have to say that the US athletes, in various areas of competition, are being a little to arrogant. It's not like they have the Gold medal already around their neck or the race is a shoe-in so I think the athletes need to remember that anyone can win the race. Some athletes are humble, realize they are good and it's a race until the very end. Just my opinion.

On budget Movie Tuesday, I finally saw Narnia. That is very much like the book and the anime I watched when I was little. The only thing that I was hoping to be like the anime was the Aslan/table cracking scene. I just wasn't feeling the sadness that should have been projected from the actors. Otherwise it was a really great film.

Couple of films that are on the way, if you didn't see the promos -
Miami Vice. Yes they have turned the legendary TV show into a movie. Good news - Don Johnson is not reprising his role as Crockett.
UltraViolet is also coming (picture above). Seems like an interesting version of Blade.
Sequel to Ice Age will be available this year as well. I think it will be adorable like the first one. Everyone is coming back to their original roles and there will be new characters too. Leno, Seann William Scott and Queen Latifah should help the pack make more laughs.

Next Friday is a night at Planet. My friend Jen will be celebrating her birthday. She says she'll be working but I know better. We'll also be getting there a bit earlier to have a drink or two before the crowd kicks in with all their fun and energy. So if there is nothing on the tube or going on, stop on over for some giggles.

Well I found/read about this great product. It's called the Sony Reader. I think it would be really cool to have a little reader around that contains several books with the ability to download other books. Very ipod like.

Snow?!

Yes that's right, it's actually snowing in southeastern Wisconsin. It's just a dusting right now but they are predicting some inches for the weekend. Kewl! Of course I'm not a big friend of the cold temps but heck, I think it will be warmer today than it has been in the last few days.

Other news:
* Still enjoying the time off. Kinda busy this week w/ chiropratic crackings, lunches with friends, haircut, fun at a friends fixed up house, and of course Movie day is always great. :D
* Received a phone call from my old place of hell. Looks like one of the IBM loaner laptops is MIA. Odd they call me to find out where it might be. What? They don't know? I'm supposed to know where it has traveled in a month? I was civil but short on the phone. Lead couldn't call me so he had HR call me. Still a chicksh$t!
* Babies got their haircut recently and man they have been all over me like fleas. They are just so excited that I'm home almost all the time.

Future calendar notes:
Olympic watching in the next two weeks, lunch with some friends on Monday along with another chiro appt., 24th is Planet. Jen's birthday so I'll be pretty much working while she's out and about drinkin and dancing, more movie days - especially on budget Tuesdays, and just more fun.

It's a rainy Winter

It's a bit rainy right now and it really has been a rainy Winter.

Well the important posting news is that George Carlin is coming to IL. Just wondered if someone wanted to go. The first date is March 10th (Friday) the second is, March 11th (Saturday). Saturday's date is currently available and Friday's is not available until this coming Monday.

Went out last night. Started at Potawatomi around 3p. Spent 20 bucks in now time on nickel or quarter slots. Met up with my friend Patty who was doing well on the Wheel of Fortune machine. Good thing we didn't stay there for too long. We had a few drinks before we left there.

Headed over to Holihans for a bit of dinner and to met others. There weren't many others meeting us but we had a good time anyway. The 5oz top sirlon there is not bad there and Patty had the salmon Caesar salad. I had that before and know it's really good salmon.

Had a few more drinks/martinis there before she left to let out her puppy. Phinus had joined us after we ate so there was much chatting and laughing. For some reason Holihan's was out of Captains so we headed off to another bar.

Hit Lynch's for a few drinks and sms chat with a cat that said he would join us. He was in a hood that a single white girl should not be. Well we did that until the cat's battery was almost dead. Finished up at Steny's before driving Geo home.

Gosh, I'm so not used to staying out late on a Thursday. Well tonight, I'll be hitting Planet since I didn't last week. I know some folks working this missed me.

Tomorrow night is Pizza Man for Jen's Kidney anniversary celebration. I also will be making some brownies for a super bowl party that I will be attending Sunday in the Racine area.

Fired Happy Hour

Well I haven't been completely idle while unemployed. hehe I just signed up for a Conversational French 1 class at Alverno. So now my Monday nights have class. I'm hoping this helps me pronounce the words I've been learning on my own. It should also get me back into wanting to learn more French.

Since there were so many JWI folks fired last Monday, some of the folks that are no longer at JWI, are getting together with current folks to keep the connections and keep updated on what is going on while not working. The gathering is at Houlihans at 5:30. Come if you want to just chat and drink.

Prior to this there will be a get together at Potawanomie around 3p for nickel slot fun. If you're free, come on down and hang with a few of us before eating and drinking.

Other than that, things are coming together as far as the stolen cards. Bank has been pretty cool and has dome some crediting. I suspect that I will have to wait until my Jan statement to see what the thief all charged.

Death of a star

Just learned this morning that actor Chris Penn died yesterday in his home. It's too bad that he's gone. I found him pretty funny in Starsky and Hutch in the towel scene.

Since being off, it's been a ton of fun doing whatever I want whenever I want, I was able to head to Chicago last week Wednesday with my friend Jen. She had to go down for work, some buyer market trade show thing going on, so she wanted some company. I went since it wasn't going to cost much to be down there. I couldn't have been more wrong. Thursday early evening, Jen and I went to Starbucks to wait for our friend to finish work.

While chatting away at Starbucks, debit card, driver's license and other cards were stolen out of my purse. The person just reached in and grabbed the stash. So after canceling everything Friday and Saturday, getting replacements hasn't been so bad. I thought the experience would be more tragic but it hasn't been yet.

The bank actually noticed the odd transactions and put a hold on the card right away. However, Capitol One waited until I reported the card stolen before calling me about the fraudulent charges. Must be rocket scientist working there. Yikes! Now I just have to wait about two months to see if identity theft took place. Good thing I printed my credit report in December. (hint: you should probably get yours before something bad happens or to prevent something bad happening.)

Other news: the company I used to work for let go another 10 folks. I hear there will be more head chopping to come. Not cool. Especially since they were touting how well they were doing in 2k5. They even purchased one 41" or 42" plasma TV and one 45" plasma LCD for the office lobby and break room, respectively. I say sell the useless equipment. They have a satellite connection so of course, yesterday it was completely useless. Then again when it snowed it was useless too. I know cause I was about the only one that would turn the LCD and try to watch some show during my free hour.

Still looking for a job but not too worried just yet. Actually the cats get a bit upset when I'm gone even for a couple of hours. It's really cute. They have been really adorable.

The job hunt

Well the unexpected break has been nice and pretty much deserved. I've had a few naps now and again but not on a daily basis. It's nice to just relax and kinda "clean up" the apt. I've been going through some of the magazines that I have here and articles that I've ripped out to eventually read. I can say the stack is pretty high but I don't mind. I've been looking but not pounding the pavement too hard. Some friends have been helping out with what is going on at their places of employment. Also been checking out Craigslist

Something of interest in a mag I recently that might come in handy for some others. ;) It's been interesting read. It's also interesting to find out how some companies treat their employees.

Tuesday the 10th was a fun day. I had lunch with my friend John at Oscars. I pulled the bonehead move of going to the wrong one. I was so blonde that day. I did eventually met up with him. I then headed over to Brookfield Square to return some items and do a bit of shopping. Why not? I had $100 in gift certs for the mall. Picked up a couple of shirts, mostly for play and not work. :( Hit Kohls to return an item and with a gift cert from there picked up a clock I've wanted for awhile now. Plugged it in Thursday and it's been great to sleep to the last few nights. Recommend it for everyone.

Thursday I spent most of the afternoon in the Emergency Room with the G-folks. G-mom wanted to see a doctor but not hers AND didn't want to wait until next Friday when she had an appointment. She didn't understand that tube infected bronchitis is pretty bad and will take about 3 weeks to get over. Longer for her since she was a smoker and a diabetic.

Well today I "watched" the music of Lord of the Rings and a behind the scenes type of DVD of Narnia. Narnia one was pretty cool since it takes you to the WETA workshop where they make all the cool blades and characters for the movie. It also had a clip on the music used in Narnia.

Granted it's a few days after the new year but yeah I haven't had a chance to post. Been a bit busy with work and reading/cleaning up the apt.

New Year's was hanging at Planet Friday the 30th and then again on the 31st. It was great to start the drinking binge on the 29th. Kept the alcohol levels up for the three nights. That was pretty cool!

On New Year's Eve my friend Jen and I went to Oakland Trattoria to get some good food to help us stay a bit buzzed before Midnight. We didn't want to get so trashed before the New year. hehe Well it was a good time. Some friends from the Port Washington area came down unexpectedly. It was great to see them and party with them for a time. It was a long night. I couldn't believe that we stayed open til 4am?!

Don't think the party stopped there. Some folks were doing shots and drinks before me moved the party elsewhere. Unfortunately many wanted to go to Victims.... I mean Victors. It was kinda interesting to see the inside of the place. It's bigger than I thought and actually kinda nice inside. The folks inside...OMGosh! Talk about a meat market, ick! Well we spent about 4 hours in there. It was a little interesting to watch the market it work but after awhile it was more irritating than fun. Some of us grab a cab and got the heck outta there.

Getting home at Noon was something else and I was so due for a nap!

In other good news: I got shit canned today and celebrated in my own special way - took a nap.

Well Christmas is coming as well as the other holidays may folks celebrate.

I'm sure many of us are busy getting ready for the holiday that we celebrate most. I am a bit busy getting all the presents for everyone that I care about. But I've been mostly busy at home. Since it's near the end of the year, it's time to clean up and get ready for the new year.

I believe we should all "clean up" this year in all aspects of our lives. I've been spending the last few days checking out my credit and making sure there is nothing on there that doesn't belong on it. I do that about every two years. Now that we are allowed to get one free credit report a year. I hope to do this every year. Here you go: Credit

Now on to the geeky side of things. Looks like there will be an Anniversary party in Chicago. There are other shows for next year in different cities but this one is the closest, so far.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend

Yes I know it's been a long time but hey, I've been a bit busy. Nothing like getting written up for "tossing papers on my desk and saying 'We'll see' ". For those that know me, have I ever said that without a bit of attitude attached to it? I didn't think so but what do I know.

Is this the craziest winter weather ever? It snowed Friday and this morning (Monday) it's bloody raining. Not just some silly drizzle. NO! It's frickin pouring out. More than just a cat and dog shower I tell you. What's next? Falling leaves? One has to wonder what is going on with the environment with the several and severe hurricanes recently, the blasts of warm and cold air currents, and the snow one day and pouring rain the day after. Can anyone explain it or does the Category 7 show have some merit?

Since the thunder was so loud and followed by lighting the sky a beautiful blue/white, I decided to watch a bit of TV. One of the movies that interested me, mostly by title, was The Human Stain. I learned about the movie after do a bit of surfing on Wentworth Miller. He's a hot little number in the hit TV series - Prison Break. I might have mentioned the show in one of my earlier posts about the hot new shows for the fall season. I think the season finale is on tonight. :(

In other fun news, I'd just like to inform the pot stirrers that I do know that someone is making monies from HER part time job. Next time, and I really hope for your sake there isn't a next time, keep my name out of it until you have the truth.

Here's what I've been up to in the weeks that I haven't been posting - saw the Russian ballet perform The Nutcracker. It's not as good as I thought it would be. Most of the folks in the audience were the parents of the kids in the show. Not cool. Something Michael Pink choreography is better than the show as a whole.

Went to see the movie Walk the Line on Thanksgiving day. They have some Academy award winning performances in that movie. I haven't seen Geisha yet but one can't go wrong with someone learning the guitar and how to sing baritone.

There was also a surprise 30th birthday party for one Adam. The party was pretty damn good too. Adam was surprised by all the folks that showed up. I would show pictures but my newly replaced Treo decided to completely lock up and reset it's self. Yeah I think I'll have to see if there is some known issue out there about it. Odd to have two phones do the same thing. I guess I'll have to sync more often.

Well it's getting early and I want to read a bit more before I have to go to hell.... I mean work. Hell would be a break from the ....well you know what I mean.

I've been one lazy girl!

It's taking soo long to post my story about Florida.

Well here's the last of it and one of the most exciting days.

I know we didn't start out too early since almost every other morning was begun around 7 or 8. The goal was to head to Cocoa and see the uncle's place, sort of.

Stopped at a Waffle House on the way. Spending many years growing up in the south - Sebring, FL - one has certain food favorites. Nothing like grits from a Waffle House. I wouldn't say that eateries in Florida have the same health codes as WI. But we did have a good breakfast.

Since Cocoa is near the Kennedy Space Center we dropped of the G-folks and made a small road trip. As kids, my bro and I have been there many times. This is the first for the niece and nephew and it's been so many years since we've been there.

We didn't get there until early afternoon. We just missed the opportunity to see all the Kennedy sites. We could have driven to the different areas since that was allowed but the last tour bus had already left.

I was just happy to even be there and able to check it out. Bro, the kids and my mom wanted to see the IMAX show. I and IMAX are no longer great friends, so they went to see it.

As you can see from the above picture and my cute little nephew, there is plenty to cover for just this area. If you check out the other parts of the picture, there is the shuttle launch pad. Wouldn't that have been cool to check that area out?! If I remember right, there was to be a shuttle launch the next Friday. This one was not published. Not sure this one had people or what the media considers "important".

We did the only ride that was there - robot scouts. This was updated and had recent space shots and space information. Jake thought it was awesome that there would be so much work the robots do for humans. Loved the holograms NASA put together for this informative ride/area.

Just before the IMAX show let out, there was an Astronaut speaker. This astronaut was at MIR/International Space Station somewhat recently. He discussed how he moved to Russia, trained with their astronauts, learned the language, and stayed with a host family for about 6 months before moving the family all the way there.

I was lucky enough to get my question asked and answered. I asked how he learned Russian and how quickly he had to learn it. He stated that they had him learn some of it here but sent him to Russia to learn the right dialect.

Another best part - getting up close to a shuttle. They have one of the decommission shuttles permanently parked on the grounds. NASA even has a set of the jet rockets that propel the shuttle into orbit, on the grounds as well.

For the secret writer there is a possibility of a free class.

Sunday the 9th I went to see Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy show. He's so hot and sweet.

I also had the great time in the front row for Movin' Out! Too bad it ends it's time here tomorrow. If someone really wanted to see a true New York production, this is the show. I really missed New York watching this show. I'm hoping to go there after New Year's. I'll probably say in Midtown.

Also just hanging at the house. Been pretty sleepy this week but then again the full moon is out this weekend.

Tomorrow will be at Jen's folks celebrating her pop's b-day. Here's to grilling out!! I just love to just show up and play cards.

Next weekend will be awesome. Taking a half day at work and hoping the temp will be as nice as this weekend.

Thursday June 16th
Since we were up every day until 1 or 2 am, today was the day to sleep in. The G-folks were up early since they wanted to go see my Uncle and drive him nuts for a few hours.

The kids, my bro and I hit Typhoon Lagoon. We only spent a few hours here since we have to meet up with everyone a bit later. Didn't spend too long at that lagoon and didn't get to check out the whole thing. Kids saw the actual typhoon lagoon area and that's pretty much were we stayed. That was pretty damn cool.

I got a sense of the undercurrent that an actual typhoon produces. It was fun getting wet and just relaxing. Also laid about in the lazy river.

It was an uneventful day. Everyone was just relaxing and taking it easy today. Most of us went to bed early and got ready for the next day.

Friday was a road trip to Cocoa and check out Kennedy Space Center. My second favorite place.

Here's a little something that many might not know about.

Well after taking about 5 dozen pics of Vince Vaughn, it's frozen. Can't get it to turn off. I guess I could reboot it but then I'd loose terrific voicemails saying wrong number, call some police/det, or some other fake threatening message. Ah... I'll have a Sprint fix it up.

Other cool news, Rachel and Adam had their reception at Joey Buona's for those folks that didn't make it down to TX. That was a blast. Great pictures from TX too.

This is the greatest pillow ever!! I might get this for everyone for x-mas.

Vince Vaughn's comedy show was the greatest! Of course Vince came out to intro all the comedians. I really liked Bret Ernest and John Caparulo. Those two were very funny and pointed out the people language like nobody's business. He also had some surprise guests. From Dodgeball - Justin Long. From Wedding Crashers - Keir O'Donnell. Producer from The Wedding Crashers and Dinner for 5 - Peter Billingsley.

Vaughn had they do skits or dodge a dodgeball. It was really great. The show started a bit late but it was cool to end near 10:30. As I was walkin to the parking garage, I heard that he was going to be at Rock Bottom around 11:00pm but hey, the handler was tellin' chicks that were in their late twenties, in lingerie, no coats - it was a bit chilly - and ready to "party". Now I'm all for a Party but not that kinda loaded party.

Sideshow and Nostalgia

Saturday started early and finished in the early mornin hours. Woke around 4am. Haven't a clue why but then again going to bed around 9p will tend to do that to me. Couldn't get back to sleep so I stayed up. Received some stalker calls around 7am. I guess some haven't put someone else's bizness back to the person it belongs to. My advice - move on!

Putzed around the homestead a bit before getting ready to hit the first party of the day. Had a few errands to run before I get to downtown.

A fun pretty girl from work was having a brewery tour gathering for her celebration. She was also celebrating with her sis. I guess the sis turns 24 again around the same time as my friend. There was a lot of flashing going on, not by me this time, massive drinkin and good times. We started at Rock Bottom then boated over to Lake something. I've eaten there before. It's in/near Schultz Park so many of you know where I'm talkin about. After a rootbeer there - they didn't serve anything but beer so I was stuck w/ non-alcohol - most everyone was ready for the next bar.

Last bar was Ale House. Love this downstairs type bar. A completely full bar so I could have anything I want. I got the usual "girlie" drink but hey, since I hadn't eaten yet today, it was the best on an empty stomach. Got the buzz back on here and most everyone else was now trashed. Most of those folks ate at Rock Bottom before the tour! Everyone pretty much like this place. They continued on to an eatery/bar but I had more fun in store for me Mequon.

In Mequon, John was starting his Pig Roast 31st b-day celebration. Tons of remodeling was going on before the big day but it turned out damn good too.

Had a blast at John's party last night. It was good to see Annie, Waiken, Adam and Rachel,Mike and Erica and brood, Hot Matt and many others. Able to literally pig out and get more of my buzz on again. Met some new folks - Jason, Julie and mini-me - and caught with some others. Congrats to the May's about their news!

Disney story continued

Vince Vaughn will be coming to town in October. Get your tickets while you can.

Disney Trip: Wednesday was a big day at the Magic Kingdom.
The entire family was going to spend the entire day together. I foresaw a fight or two but there was only one little skirmish. When it started I knew that some people needed to be hydrated and fed. Off to find some water and snacks. Of course, the fighters were feeling much better. I was glad it was towards the end of the night when this happened.

The day started out a bit slow. Had to get 5 motorized chairs and one stroller. Stroller came in handy to hold tired kids and water bottles. Since we were staying in one of the Disney resorts we could go in earlier. One hour earlier before it was open to the public. That was really awesome. Downside, no restaurants were open for b-fast so we had to find a place that would be open around 9am. Not a bad deal.

We ended up having a mini-tour of the magic kingdom. Had to pass under the archway of Cinderella castle. I loved how decorated it was for the celebration. On our way to Land of Tomorrow, we ran into Alice from Wonderland. Keera was so excited to see one of the Princesses so early. We naturally stood in line so she could have her picture taken.

I had fun just taking in all the sites. It's been so many years since I was there. I was also very young last time too. My fam and I used to come here quite often when we lived in the area. I have no idea how we could afford it back then.

So we figured out where we were going to eat and then figured out what ride we were going to hit first. We took the best boat trip there could ever be - It's a small world. It was great, of course! They updated the costumes and kept the song the same. Kids just loved it! All the kids did.

Well we hit all the rides possible on the grounds. Even the Haunted House. Dad had to walk and stand a bit before getting on the ride but the big kid had fun too. Keera was scared but opted to go on the ride anyway.

The party at the end of our night was a grand celebration that only Disney could put on. The castle changes colors all thru the night with the light parade. Tink gliding down from the top of the castle to the main gate. It was very awesome! The bus ride back was a treat of all kinds of proportions. People were tired, sunburned and a bit cranky.

Well here's to the continuing sage of this double crazy girl's life.

Here's to thinking of others.

Returned on Saturday from a pretty relaxing week upnorth. I was in a remote cabin near Rhinelander. It was relaxing considering that I was with my grandfolks and mom. Mom got sick early in the week. Found out yesterday (Monday) that she actually got bronchitis.

Had some fun shopping in a couple of the towns around the area. Found out it's not that far from Crandon, a friends place up there. Cool. It the Candy shop in Eagle River but now I can't find the candy I bought. :(

There were a couple of days where I didn't leave the cabin. Had great naps those days. Did some fishing off the pier on a couple of early evenings. Didn't catch anything to keep those days. Pop did catch a nice small mouth bass. I actually have a picture of it on the phone but didn't download it yet. Not sure if it's clear or not either.

Now for the continuation of the Disney story. Tuesday was Epcot day. YEAH!!

It's my favorite place and could spend literally two to three days there checking out every country and some of the other stuff that is there. As you can see from the picture above, they too decorated the Epcot ball for the birthday celebration. Yeah that's my cute niece and nephew posing for the shot.

Bro and I wanted to try that Test Track but the lines were ungodly long. We knew we would be back another night but heck if we were gonna wait two hours. We also didn't want to do the timed entry since we wanted to hit the different countries this day.

Before hitting the countries, some lovely characters stopped by and the kids (yes all of us) were taking pictures with some of them. Goofy and Pluto were around and pop took a picture with them. He also got a picture with Daisy and Daffy Duck.

First country we went to visit, Mexico. I love the inside of this place. Bro got a great shot of it with his digital camera. Would post but it wouldn't be where I want it. Boat ride was nice and colorful. It's kinda nice going to all these rides with Handicap folks. They have boats equipped to carry a wheelchair and whomever is with them. After a couple rides we had the process downpat.

Norway was next. It was also on our way to our lunch surprise for cute Keera. They also have a boat ride and surprisingly it was very cool inside, tempature-wise at least. Keera got a bit scared when one of the Polar bears was eating something else or some animal was being mean to another. It was so cute when said that after the ride.

On with Lunch. It was scheduled for 12:30pm or something like that but I guess it was taking longer than usual. We pretty much had no choice but to wait outside for them to call us. While we waited it was a shopping opportunity. We hit the Norway store and looked around for a few trinkets. The rest of the family hit up the kringle shop. We all had a little snack for lunch.

Lunch was actually at the Princess Storybook Dining restaurant. Didn't know we would have a great meal and it wasn't all that expensive. Bro and I split the cost. We had no idea it was covered under our meal plan that we had already paid for. Oh well. Best part was seeing Keera with 5 of the 6 princesses. She hugged each one and posed for pictures. She was so adorable. Dad had to get a picture with Princess Jasmine. She was looking pretty damn hot.

Next country - China. They didn't' haven't a ride but did have a 360 - Imax like film showing off the country. We didn't check that out since we just ate. We did do some serious looking around in their very long and vast shop. I picked up a little Chococat wallet for Jen. I knew she needed another one and that she was into Chococat. Picked up another pearl for me. I love those Oyster pick pearl things. I get anywhere from Champagne to a lite white colored pearl AND they are always over 7mm's. Pretty soon I'll have enough for a necklace I want to design.

Germany didn't have a ride but that didn't stop us from taking a peak thru their shops. I didn't pick up too much here but love looking at what they have to represent their country.

America. In the past they had what was called the Hall of Presidents. It was pretty neat to have animated figures move and talk. Well they have severally upgraded this show. It's darn cool how they have the different phases of history represented. Kids found it kinda neat but the big kids..... well let's just say it's impressive.

By now it was getting near early to mid evening. Japan was our near the end for the night country. We thought we would walk around here and just wait for some pretty awesome fireworks. The cart riders found a pretty nice spot near the big pond in the middle where viewing is pretty decent.

Fireworks in the Illumations pool were very awesome. The earth globe that they have digital pictures on and splits open for fireworks is breath-taking. Some of the buildings are lite during this show and it makes for a terrific background. I suggest that you catch this light display whenever you can. It is the best show on the Earth - literally.

Last country of the night - Morocco. We didn't spend a whole lot of time here, mostly due to the hour of the night already. They had beautiful artwork and buildings. I like visiting just for the sake of looking at the possible design of it all. Nothing like a little escape before going back to reality.

Now it's near midnight and we tiredly head back to the buses to get back to our resort. We hit some shops on the way out but don't buy too much since we are already tired and loaded down.

Discovery landing

At this posting this morning, Discovery is currently landing at Edwards Air Force Base in CA. Here is Nasa's site that has the replays for those that did not get to watch it live this morning.

As I hope to catch up on my personal life and these postings, I hope to share my story for meeting an actual astronaut and asking him a question! It was damn awesome!

Oh in other fun news, heading to State Fair tonight with John and friends. Normally I don't go but I know with this group it will be fun.

Sorry loyal readers. Working 50 hour weeks makes this girl a bit too tired to update or post anything.

So much has happened since the last posting. London has had a terrorist attack or two, like usual the gov is cutting taxes only to increase some others to pay for stuff. Why not just stick a hot poker up my butt and tell me I'm a corndog.

Good news, Adam and Rachel got married here and Dallas - a big congrats to them!

Working about 45 hours a week now so now I can do more stuff. Heck it's August. The warmest month of the year. So if I don't answer the cell it means I'm at the bro's swimming and getting burnt to a crisp. :D

Long Disney posting

Here’s a map of Disney’s layout of their Parks. Not bad deal since it started out as swamp land.

Monday’s adventure took us to MGM Studios.

I thought this was my first time there but after getting lunch at one of the mass feeding places, I realized I had been there before. Many years ago albeit it being about 10 years ago.

It we spent most of the day there but it doesn’t really feel like we did either. Of course with most of these parks there is always the waiting in line. We didn’t do too much of that since there are not awhole lot of rides here. First ride was the Star Wars one.

This one has not changed over the years. The first time pilot still travels incorrectly thru the space station and other naughty things. (Don’t want to give it away for those that have not been on it.) The kids loved it since it was Star Wars, a ride, and robots. My stomach wasn’t too thrilled. Thank goodness we ate before jumping on.

Of course the ride has you exiting thru a ton of merchandise to purchase. Oh that Han Solo! How could I exit the store and not have his picture with me. ;) Not to mention that was THEE movie back in the day.

We did some looking around and possibly some other rides. The rides that we didn’t do are really the story. We wanted to catch The Little Mermaid but my bro couldn’t figure out where it was and the time it started. Found out it was only steps away and we just missed the beginning by moments. Ah well.

Hit this ride. Had to it was another one of those that one grew up with back in the day.

Other frightening ride(s) - Tower of Terror. Get this; my nephew was willing to go on. He’s usually the one afraid to go on such rides. So I’m thinking he didn’t understand what is involved with the ride. My mom and I couldn’t go on due to health problems, so no one went on that one. Next to that one was the Rock ‘n’ roller coaster.

Bro wanted to do the Aerosmith’s rock ‘n’ roller coaster. Since there are loops that leaves me out. Mom wasn’t too keen on it either. I think the niece was all for it. She was too small for the ride so we told her that she was not old enough to go on. She was cool with that answer. We were not sure how she would react if we said she was too small. Probably have a fit.

We would have liked to see this but it wasn’t dark enough at the time. Hanging around for another couple of hours just waiting for that was not on the game plan.

So after our ice cream break and looking at the rides we didn’t go on, we did what any American family would do. Went shopping!! A lot of the stores/shops were on our way out so we hit quite a few. We also hit the AFI Showcase. I totally loved just looking around. There was a board of all the AFI lifetime award winners. It did not have George Lucas on it since the broadcast of that had not occurred as of yet.

They also had a boards of the Good guys and the Villains. They did include animated folks as well like Ursula (wicked octopus from The Little Mermaid). I’m hoping the pictures of those boards comes out. If so I might be able to scan ‘em in and post ‘em somewhere.

We did a couple of hours in the resort pool before calling it a night.

Question: On a trip, if there were no limits on what you could take, What would you take with you?

Sunday the 12th and other latest news

From captain to Professor to another professor. When I read it, it sounded awesome. I love Patrick Stewart already. Ok since his stint in Robin Hood: Men in Tights. My issue had Anakin on the cover and has so much info in it.

I like Keanu but I'm not sure about this. This is almost to close to the real world. It's also like having all the bad folks of Hollywood in one movie to see if it can fly.

So Sunday the 12th We headed to Animal Kingdom. Up around 8am so that we can get something to eat at Pop Century before heading off. It was about 92 degrees before we left the hotel. Yes it was damn hot! I believe the heat index was up over 60%. Oddly I didn't have trouble breathing that day. Allergies did kick in however, so a sniffling I went.

I learned late in the day (way to late to prevent us from going) that the Kingdom in kinda built into a pit. This is to make it very very warm like Africa. Mostly for the animal's comfort. It was me, my bro, the niece, the nephew and my mom on this glorious hot day. I believe we each had 5 bottles of water before it was even noon.

First ride was Dinosaur. My bro and I didn't think it would be too bad since the nephew likes Dinos. Little did we know about the popping out dinos and one eating another.

My niece was cute in saying later that the bigger dinosaur eating the little dinosaur was not very nice. Man she can be so adorable! Beware all, she turns into a terror 3 seconds later.

We then hit the Safari. That was a quick two week ride. hehe Almost all rides are two weeks. We did see sleeping lions, tigers, grazing gazelles and elephants.

Before heading to the safari we did a fastpass to the rapids. Fastpass is a timed entry into a ride so that one doesn't have to wait in line for 35 min to 2.5 hrs. It's pretty damn cool. Rapids was pretty neat. I was getting a bit motion sick when the whole thing was spinning around, not fast mind you but around enough to make me a bit dizzy. We all got a little wet but the folks directly across from my bro and niece were drenched!

This you have to check out! It was so cool to just look at the tree. We didn't get very close since it was so hot and we couldn't take it. The carvings on the tree are just awesome. I'm hoping the pixs I took turn out. Otherwise I have to print out copies of what my bro took with his digital.

We headed back to the resort to have dinner and cool off. Also to get ready for another long day at another park.

Day to day update on vacation plus other bonus features

Saturday the 11th was a very long long day. Up at 3am to help the G-folks get their luggage into my mom's car. Ok I'm not used to getting up that early. Going to bed yes but not up at that hour.

It wasn't too bad. The kids were pretty reasonable at that hour. Got there of course way earlier than we needed to. Not my fault some folks didn't listen to me. Like Milwaukee has a serious Int'l airport?! Pah - leeese! Hung around as much as we could until we had to go to the respective gates.

Flight was pretty decent. Only thing that wigged me out was the sliding on the air before landing. I'm used to that when landing on an icy landing strip but not in the air before the actual landing.

Once down, the kids, I and the bro went looking for the G-folks. We had to take a shuttle to the main connection hub to get close to their gate entrance. It wasn't too long of a wait. All were a bit excited since we were actually in Orlando, Florida!

Now that we had everyone together, it was time to get the Disney shuttle to the resort. We were staying at Pop Century. It's not the most luxurious but hey we were not there for the amenities in the room.

We couldn't figure out what to do once we were checked in. It then hit us. We're tired! So in true Panagis fashion - we ate, hit the room to chill out and unpack. We had connecting rooms so it was fun to walk back and forth. Besides we could send the kids in there to drive them nuts for a few min while bro and I got things a bit settled with luggage and his breathing machine.

Now tomorrow (later today) I should be posting about our first adventure at one of the Disney parks. :)

This week has been pretty hectic.

Working until 8 or 9 every night to catch up or at least not be more than two months in repairs. I've tried to do the repairs after 6p but of course there are other things that needed to get down that I couldn't do during the day.

Anywho, Thursday night was great at Giovanni's. Johnny picked the place. I wanted decent tasting steak. It was very good food, good laughs and did I mention great food? ok ok, good company too. Wasn't bad tasting this morning either. hehe Met Lisa's mom. Congrats on her 5 years of "freedom".

Well tomorrow morning around 730am I'll be in a plane bound for Orlando, Florida. Disney World watch out! I'mma coming with my family. It's gonna be fun with the niece and nephew. Love hanging with them when they are excited. Eyes light up, glitter and gleam when they tell a story. It's just great! If you haven't met my great niece and nephew, let me know and I'll come up with a fun day/night. Oh and I should be hitting Cape Canaveral sometime during that week. Requests for trinkets can be sent to my phone. hehe

Trophy weekend

Have I bragged about my nephew lately? No?! Well then let me tell you how great he is again!

This weekend he was part of the Club Scouts Heartland Races (something like that). At the Zoo this weekend the Club Scouts held little derby car races. My Cute little nephew took first place on several races and perhaps for the day before the rains came down. He has a couple of trophy's. He only beat 62 other cars!
Mind you this is his first district race ever in the Club Scouts. However, on Sunday he competed against 31 other divisions. Since he's so great he took 5th overall. I think he's damn great for his first time.

Friday night at Planet was pretty cool. Let's just say finally the bartender took noticed. I guess the leather chaps really helped. haha

Saturday was fun. Jen called up and invited me over to her folks place for food and cards. Always like going over there and hanging out. Cards are fun to play with a bit of competition and money.

Question to ponder: Car ride to anywhere with money as no object OR all kinds of fun by living out your favorite fantasy?

Memorial Day weekend

Had a great time playing Drinking Kickball. Having a drink in one's hand when trying to catch a speeding ball is a bummer. There was alcohol abuse everywhere. And yes, one can strike out when playing this game. You would have to ask Shanna or Kaz on how one does something like this. After awhile the score was not as important to keep track of as much as just having fun and laughing.

After playing for a couple of hours, I hung around and was referee. Man that was a workout but a fun one. The sun also had a great time. It came out from the clouds late in the afternoon. I wasn't so happy later on when I was home. A little sunburn is not always good mixed with alcohol.

Sunday was a great day for resting and so I did, most of the day. Cats were loving it just as much as me. The three of us slept until 1pm. We then lounged on the couch until it was bed time.

Monday was a bit lazy as well but I treated it like any other work day. Got up around 7am, did my normal morning routine then started in with cleaning up the apt a bit here and there. Jen called and I headed over to her folks place around 5ish. Good food and plenty of it too.

Picked up this and this one tonight. Both good movies for their era. heh

Hitting Planet on the 3rd. Come out and visit if you can get away.

The week in review

Well Waiken left yesterday for his new home in Vancouver. Many wishes of safe travels my friend and stay in touch! Other folks, check out his website for details of his trip.

Sick once again. I can't believe how much I've been sick this year. I almost feel married again,damn! This time I went to the doctor. Let's just say it wasn't worth the 15 bucks admission fee. I wouldn't have minded if I got a script for some drugs or something to help the coughing but NOOOOOO. Ah well. I'll be looking for a new one soon enough.

It was nice to have a day off during the week. hmmm might have to do that again. Boss was pretty cool about it.

Saw this on the tube this morning. Thought it was pretty awesome even tho it was last year's season show. If I had the opportunity I'd go to check it out for a long weekend or two.

Other good news: the stinky contractor leaves June 17th. I might be getting an imaging tool so it won't take me 3 hrs a machine.

Bad news for me: contractor's last day is the 17th. Means I'll be doin all the work now. Well that might be good. It will also hopefully show some Directors that it can not all be done by one person for 2500 peeps.

Now for the real reason your reading this: If you had to make a choice, would you be in the band or the chorus?

- My car just rolled over 60,000. I know it's not much for some cars but for me it's a mile stone (no pun intended). I bought the car at the end of October 2000 and it was "born" in August 2000. Not bad for a little over 4 years.
- Heard on the news today that England will not advertise Happy Hour. I wonder if this is a precursor to what might happen here one day.

I'd like to get a group together for lunch and dinner. How about Venice Club for lunch and Nanakusa for dinner? Let me know if your in. Only one criteria is used for this night - try someplace that you or most everyone has not been to before.

Other fun news - Summerfest will soon be here. Want to pay 9 bucks a ticket? Otherwise, it's 12 bucks a tix. Let me know. I'd like to go see Night Ranger, Whitesnake, Eddie Money, Kool and the Gang, Kenny Wayne Shepard (awesome that he's made it to the big stage!), Los Lobos and Alter Bridge. Hmmmm maybe the 5 tixs I requested won't be enough. hehe

I haven't been up to too much. Suffering from sinus for the last week or so. This great Milwaukee Spring weather has been a great help the entire time. Yeah I think I would like 60's on a daily basis and a place where it doesn't mention 40 degrees as a high for the day. I might be able to get used to that.

Question of inquiry: If a choice was given, what would your decision be? Situation: Stay and be happy with your (insert whatever is relevant to you - job, career, spouse....) or look for something/someone that will make you happier than you have been in years?

Thanks to those that attended the anniversary dinner! It was great fun, good company and fun tasty food. :) The dinner was at Pizza Man with John, Lisa and Adam. I headed to Planet after that to work a bit for my friend Jen. I get there and I really didn't have to work, she showed up. How cool for me. It was awesome that I was able to keep my pre-dinner buzz going until I got home.

Got up pretty early on Sat. Early for me is before 10am. Now my babies look really really cute and don't have all that hair to deal with in what WI calls Spring. I'll be sharing pics once I take some and download it from the new PalmOne Treo phone.

Have I mentioned how much I love this new phone. I think I like the full keyboard that I have with it, the fun texting folks pretty much all day, the built-in camera, the speaker phone capabilities, and the available downloadable free games. I haven't had a chance to download to many utilities just yet. Trying to make sure that I have a handle on what I have so far. I also can't believe how many games, utilities and features there are out there for purchase as well. Should have known, Folks have to capitalized on something and make money from it.

Oh have I mentioned my new boss is very cool. He and I pretty much see eye to eye on what is best for the Lab Not to mention he thinks I'm cool. He likes that I'm honest direct and pretty driven. Hmmmm I like this type of boss. Wonder why it has taken so long for our director to get a capable person to lead many of us in the ways of working together.

Budget movie Tuesday

Who's up for going to Budget theatre for a cheap non-current movie? If you want to drive out to Oak Creek to see a movie give me a jingle.

Got a new boss today. We seemed to hit it off ok. Will know more as the week progresses. Learned of a move that the entire IT dept is doing. It will be interesting to find out when and where we will be moving. Oh did I forget to mention that the plans that we had are pretty much null and void. There were major details not communicated to anyone.

So the equipment that I need to make the lab happen outside my room was never ordered or thought of when the move was scheduled for about two weeks out yet. Now that it's been bumped up, one would think that "Oh s##t I need to get that stuff now!" Well that would mean someone actually cares that offices will not complain about getting their machines on time. hhmmmmm. Not my bad. This I really don't care attitude is really not cool everyday. I think the director got an uneasy taste of that today.

Big meeting and he thinks he put the smack down on me. Yeah well. It's not on me. :) Besides the fact that I could care less about how machines get sent to offices. I was told to let someone fail, so I did. Now the result is to have someone babysit a part of the room. I say, go for it. If it will get me someone that can do more than check-in machines and reimage in a day. I'll do whatever it takes to get someone with skills to help do more than 1/8th of what I do.

Well that's quite a bit of complaining. Hoping the new boss makes some serious changes and from the short meeting we had, there will be tons of changes for the positive too. I get what I want! That's the way it should be. hahahaha

Now for the infamous question: If you had to live with someone for a year (friend, girlfriend, boy/girl toy, mom, dad), who would it be? (Don't have to name names or give full blown details.)

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything but nothing exciting has been going on.

Caught the cold bug that has been going around. I can give thanks to my co-worker idiot for getting that. I still have it but it's not as bad as it once was. I was off work for two days due to the chills and fever that comes with it. Damn cold. I warned him that if he's sick again he better take off or pump up on herbal supplements. I really can't afford to be off work. It just triples what i have to do in a day. Not like he's any help.

I also had a funeral to attend Saturday the 9th. My Ex-Mom-in-law died. I was extremely happy that my Ex and I keep in touch about our families. I got to see her the Friday before her death. It was sad none-the-less. That took a lot of energy and strength out of me. I wasn't able to make John's party he was having for Lisa. Hope all had a great time and that Lisa didn't mind turning a year older. So are you now 25? hehe

I haven't been doing too much otherwise. Eating a bit more fruit and exercising a bit.

Other good news? Princess from work finally got fired. Hell I have no idea how in the world one can break some cardinal rules and still be employed. Not sure of the complete story since it seems it's still unfolding.
I guess I will be getting a new manager soon. I will know for sure in a week or so. We've had others accept before but never make it to the doorway.

I've had a few call me about the floating white paper so we'll see if I get something in SoCal this summer.

Impressed so far

This weekend I spent a bit more than a few hours pimping myself out, on paper that is. There's quite a bit out there if one looks in several places. Well I received a call this morning on my cell for a position that is here. It's for a Testing Coordinator/Rollout lead for a huge downtown company that w/in the year remove their brokerage subsidiary. They need someone now to soon and this person filling company wanted me after my update on Monster. Pretty cool I thought. I have the info if anyone is interested; just email me.

Another thing going on: April 29th from 7pm to 9pm @ Mad Planet - It's an Anniversary Party. The only reason I mention it, is that Rose wants to have a tenative count so she can figure out how many bartenders she should have on hand. I want just one there due to how cute he is. Yep I want eye candy at my party. I'm allowed!! :) If you haven't rec'd your invite, by all means let me know.

Bon Jovi will be coming back to Milwaukee giving a free concert. It's some anniversary concert. I can't remember who it's for but it's to happen August 20th.

Just been a busy week once again. Really haven't been getting home before 9pm. Gosh that doesn't seem all that late until you figure in that I didn't get something in my belly for dinner until after that time.

Met this really terrific guy Monday during a training class. We email now and then and have a great time just geek talkin'. He knows a ton of stuff about all kinds of things. Here's hoping that the fun continues. He's a pretty neat guy to chat/email with. Hope to learn more from him while I'm still in the area.

Can't believe it's been a week

I must have been busy or down right lazy. I think it a bit of both this time.

Working late to get machines setup for new folks at work and coordinating some things before the huge move for next Thursday. Good news: I will be at a MS training deal Monday and Tuesday. Bad news: ton of paperwork, swap out old machines w/ new, and other little details regarding the move the thurs night.

Doin' some reading of Fortune mag - they have an article in there about the best advice given to many of the CEOs of leading Fortune 500 companies. Very cool. Interesting to read some of the back stories of folks that have been very very successful. Richard Branson opened a record shop when he was 17. Nothing showing at that age he'd be a very big go getter or anything like that. It just boggles my mind.

Also been reading that most designers barely make a move on their own. Many consult a physic daily. Maybe they consult them more often than that. It depended on the person and the physic. Many movie stars (Brad Pitt, Demi Moore and others) consult them as well. I'm not sure I buy into the whole thing exactly. Somethings are chance.

Encore is having Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on I guess it's this week or month. Not sure how their programming is working just yet. Johnny Depp is so hot as a swash-buckling pirate. Yummy! Orlando Bloom isn't bad ither. Can't wait to see the two sequels (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest AND Pirates of the Caribbean 3- working title)! Johnny's quite the busy for the next year or two promoing movies.

It's been awhile.....

since I've posted something of substance so hang on to your seats for a fun ride!

Now and then we all get a little blonde but I pulled a duzy Friday night. Was online chatting with a friend of mine and he was wonderfully offered a fun time in Jamaica. I thought he meant he was going that night. Bit odd to be chatting when he should be heading to the airport. Well the actual trip is not until June or something. Yeah I felt like quite the blonde.

However this next story super secedes the one above. My G-dad is on a crazy stupid-ass diet. I find out tonight that he's been dizzy for awhile. That is bad since he's over 80 and had heart surgery about 1.5 yrs ago. (The best part is coming.) This new diet has him eating veggies and fruit most of the time. ( I would have said day but it's only three meals he's supposed to eat for the day.)

Male version of story: he tells me he's supposed to have a total of 200 calories a day. (READ: for the entire day!) Yes. Yes. That is not the brain working on full thrusters. Yelling at him that a person should have a min of 1200. Since he's grossly over weight I said he should be doing about 2000 max. Of course he thought I was nuts. (granted now and again, I agree.) This time I know I'm completely right since this was beaten into my head in health class and most of the mags I read about food/eating.

Last I saw he was grabbing the book of stupid-ass wisdom to prove his point. I haven't received a call yet about how wrong I am. I'm guessing I won't and that he didn't read something correctly. YEA THINK SO?!

OK that is the news of today (Saturday) so here's the news of Friday. Was booking my butt off at work to get my new machine setup for me before the night was over. For those that don't know, I work until 6pm Monday thru Friday. I like it since I miss traffic on both sides of the commute. I wouldn't mind working earlier say 7 to 4 but that opportunity is just not available for me just yet.

Anyway, the news is that I get to keep the boss I have currently until they hire an IT Ops Manager.........Oops the title has changed since the news was reported to the employees - OH shocker! So the Help Desk reports to a new lead person. This person is in charge of telecommunications for all offices. Yeah that makes sense.

The circuit person and the two server boys report to someone that normally takes care of one part of Peoplesoft. Not sure how much server information he knows. I'm thinking slim to nil on that one. So it's the blind leading the blind deaf and stupid. I think our director is moving responsibilities off to capable people. (READ: things are really f'd up now!)

So I'm confused as to why I'm still stuck with a boss that doesn't have a clue on anything resembling a PC Lab/desktop support. It's great that he's in charge of our security settings. Basically I will be doing what I already do, whatever it takes to get it done. Not actually the way things should be but then again, according to my review: I complain a lot. Hmmm I wonder why that is? This doesn't cause concern to anyone? I guess not but then again I don't think the VPs care so much that IT is going into the Loo.

In other great news: There was a shooting with many Murder Death Kills today. It's really terrific that Wisconsin goes national with the likes of Gacy, Dahmer and now a church shooter. Even better that he off'd himself so we can all understand why he did this.

Broadband expanding with this satellite which blasted off Friday from Florida. Not sure I'm all that excited about another satellite floating in space. Wonder when they will come up with a ship that will bring down the ones that no longer work instead of having them just fall to the earth whenever.

Had dinner at Biggs before seeing a movie. It's not the Cheesecake Factory but then again one doesn't have to wait an hour to an hour and a half to get a table. I had a tenderloin filet. It was darn nice piece of meat too.

The movie: Constantine. I completely recommend it for everyone. Heck even kids 3 and up were there watching it. I'm not a fan of kids watching this movie but hey I'm not a parent ither. I believe this movie will gain popularity by word of mouth. I haven't read the comics to know the John Constantine character all that well but hey a great script, pretty decent actors and a good director can get a good movie put out there. If anyone wants to go, I'm willing to go again.

Worked a bit at Planet last night. Well part of the night anyway. Girl from worked showed up last night with her hubby. That was pretty cool. My friends from Port Washington came down to party up a bit. The two groups of folks were what helped the night be fun. Ok so did the cash. heh Might be working next Friday night as well since Jen has to work at the Museum late.

Received an email from the Pabst Theatre that George Carlin was going to be in town April 1st. Presale sale for tixs was supposed to be on Feb 29th. I know there is not a 29th this month for two reasons. Reason 1: several printed calendars that I have here in the apt do not have a 29th on them. Reason 2: it's not a leap year. Leap years happen on even years and since it's 2005, it won't happen. College helped me learn this one. hehe

Since the email I searched Ticketmaster for possible locations near Milwaukee to see one of the greatest comedians we have out there. He's playing in Appleton in March and Davenport, IA in April. If anyone else is willing to do the trips, let me know. Since both cities have the shows on a Friday it would be cool to hang out in either city for the weekend. If interested in hanging for the weekend, let me know.

Other fun notes: Peter Gray is moving down here very soon so that the gang will be altogether again. It's awesome. We got a few of us together Wednesday night at Bucas. Interesting place to have a tomato-based allergic person and Jewish person to have dinner. After a bit of trying to figure out what to eat, thanks to Waiken, we filled up pretty quickly and of course John had a cheese pizza. :) Some of us hit Champions after and ran into Foy there. It was good to see him again. Haven't seen him in ages.

Jen had a great time at Planet this last Friday. It was so good she doesn't remember the end of the night at the club, the ride home or anything she said after the third blue planet. So of course I teased her about it yesterday (Saturday) every chance I got. Next time you see her tell her she needs another Blue Planet. I'd like to give a salute to Brian the bartender. Love ya for making great strong drinks. ;)
A few of her friends got together for a B-day dinner at Tenuta's in Bayview. Only a few complaints about the night but the food was pretty great. It's a good place to take a date. It's a lot like Palmero Villa. The bar and few tables like when you walk into the place. Tenuta's is a lot like that but a bit bigger.

Saturday was also a morning of helping Mesa move from one place to another. It went pretty quickly which is always good. Al had plenty of help there. Two trips was all it took. Glad the heavy stuff was done before I got there. hehe Not a bad new place either. I kinda like the covered porch. Kool hardwood floors everywhere in the place.

Don't forget tonight the Oscars are on ABC @ 7pm. Tune in to see who will win the Best Picture from the Academy. I think having to choose which person gets Best Actor in a leading role is hard. Johnny Depp since he has played so many great characters and it seems he turning out to be the next Sean Penn in the Awards arena. Don Cheadle has also done great roles in several films and TV series/movies. I haven't seen all the movies that are nominated which I hope to change once the darn winter is over.

New post but not much on what has been happening

I don't have the calendar here with all the goodies that I've been up to but I'll post something to keep you on the edge of your seat. hehe

I've had back issues for awhile so I called a friend of mine since she mentioned she went to one. Find out it's her neighbor. Not only is HE her neighbor but he's HOT! Down side, he's married and she's super nice. Ok I'm bummed; however, his hands are on me for the 30 to 60 minutes. Ok that's low but hey it's been a lonely several months. Anyway, after an "adjustment" I don't have major back pain. Just a bruise type of ache. Not a great feeling but it's 40 times better than two weeks ago.

Weekend plan? Friday night is Planet since my friend Jen's b-day is Thursday and she wants to get ripped Fri night. So I'll be working a little bit that night. Should make Sat morning a treat, which leads me to the next adventure - helping Mesa move a few blocks. I'm hoping for afternoon nap after that otherwise I better be "busy";)

The news so far

Trip to the Field Museum. Not bad at all. Drive down wasn't so bad. Not sure what time we left here but got there around noon. I was a bit hungry so we hit the little bakery they have on the premises. Jen's folks were pretty cool to hang with but then again they pretty much always have been.

Jen and I couldn't figure out what we were going to check out and what special exhibits everybody wanted to see. Well it was girls against the guy/dad in this case. So before we did this times event we checked out the rest of the museum for free. :D

The three of us checked out Machu Picchu around 2pm. They didn't have much about or artifacts from. They are still learning about the site since it's discover. It's been about 30 years since it was discovered. Still like to make the climb to check it out. It's a ton larger than it looks in pics, models, and descriptions. Hell I'd camp there for weeks just to check out some of those buildings. Just the different tier levels almost all around the different buildings is interesting. They are still not sure what animals were there for food, tier fertilization and working around the places. Lots of Llama hang time that is for sure. Still shocks me that they would spend their "summers" up there. That is about miles of hiking just to spend about 4 months or so up there. Interesting.

After that Jen's mom and I hit the Jackie O exhibit. She was a bit interested in it, I wanted to see some of the dresses and French speeches she had, and Jen was just so happy to check out their main gift shop. Still wish there was some photography allowed in some of the exhibits since there are not many pics available in the shops or net. Ah well.

There were some exhibits that I didn't get to see due to time restrictions. More than willing to go down again and check the diamond and other exhibits as well as the Shedd Aquarium. Planetarium would be pretty awesome as well. I think I'll leave that for a time when they really need me at work. :D

Will post more maybe tomorrow night after Lost. Sleep well all and travel safely those that are moving about the States.

Adventures so far

Friday night was fun. Didn't dance too much due to the knees but just relaxed and had a good time. Probably won't be there for another 2 or 3 weeks unless someone calls and feels like going.

Did the Food and Froth thing at the museum. Still love hitting the museum at night for any event. Well there were a ton of people there and just couldn't wait to tap into the beer. I couldn't believe the number of people that were there. I didn't expect the event to have so many. Recommend it highly to those that love beer and willing to try new brands and flavors.

I was hungry and eager to check out the food tables strewn around the museum. I thought there would be more food places represented but alias there was not. For those that do not like beer, me, there are the non-alcholoic choices - Root Beer! Mighty tasty ones too. Stone Creek had a nice one. One place had one that looked like beer. That was pretty cool in my book. I will have to try to attend next year if I'm in town.

Music was played by a varitey of groups within the museum. Sigmund was playing in one corner of the place. He's still a bit off but hey crazy people can be fun. He was tossing bags of chips into the crowd then sample packages of beef sticks from Klements. He was actually funny and not like a complete vulgar pig (unlike his stints at Summerfest).

The only part I didn't like was the first floor. People seemed to think that the museum was a bar. I know it was for the 3 hrs the event was going on but I guess some common sense should have been applied. For example get the hell out of the walking areas. Plenty of room for folks to move about and not interrupt ones conversations if you just move in closer to the exhibits. I don't think it's too much to ask. I was passing someone and I didn't say excuse me, nor do I believe I should have, of course she said excuse me in a snottiy tone. I just said "move close to the exhibit so I can get thru." I didn't even look at her so I don't know if she even heard me. Tough beans!

Before leaving for such a fun event, I noticed the S.A.G. awards were on. Found it a big odd that the big channels were not showing the awards and doing a big deal about what folks were wearing. Nothing too exciting happened before I left. When I returned home it was still ona nd they were still passing out awards. Of course I continued to watch. Best awards given in my opinion, Tony Shaloub for comedy actor and Jerry Orbach for an actor in a Drama series (I think). Either way, two fine actors won an award from their peers and truely deserve it.

I'm also tired of the Desperate Housewives noise. I think it's mostly publicity to get more viewers to MAKE the show popular. Also can we drop having Sex and the City actors at award shows. Their time is over and repeats shouldn't be looked at for possible awards now.

Great Nephew accomplishments

Found out Sunday that my cute little 7 year old nephew won first place in the box car derby. He's in the group before guys join Cub Scouts. I call it weebles but I'm sure there is another name for the group. Anywho, :P to those that don't like my slang, he did really well in the tournament that was held Saturday.

He also looked completely adorable in his weeble shirt. Freaky parts - brother has his assistant cub master shirt on. Last time I saw him in a boy scout shirt w/ all sorts of patches was eons ago. (BTW, eons is a real word so there!) That was a very weird freaky deja view sight. Also to see my cute little nephew in a cub scout style-like shirt. He looks a little like my brother but is more adorable of course, so seeing him in a shirt like that was a bit odd on the eyes.

Jake, my nephew, was so proud of his win that he wanted to tell everyone personally. He didn't want his sister, my niece, to tell anyone before he did.

Well I just wanted to report some good news. Have a fun day with someone else's kids today. :)

Full moon can spin one's head

Full moon was the 25th but all kinds of strange things happened to me from Monday the 27th on.

Just a friend opened up that he digs me. Too bad he didn't say something earlier. Ah well.

On the other side of the coin, guy I thought was cute is now "free". I guess he's starting the new year as a single instead of being part of a duet. Sometimes it's good to go out on an off night.

Another dude mentioned he was slightly interested but I'm not so sure that one will get much attention from me. I guess some months ago he couldn't remember to call back or completely lost the number. So I don't have the time to respond to pats on the ass. When guys don't call back it's so annoying. Usually I'm pretty relaxed about it but don't "contact" me some months later and expect me to drop everything to be with you. Ugh!

I'll just be happy if neighbor ick leaves me alone for more than two days/nights. And folks wonder why I don't try to get to know my neighbors. It's more peaceful without them knocking on the door during my much needed nap time.

Oh my I'm whining quite a bit.
Anywho, question is: Favorite TV series of late? Mine: Lost. That Dominic Monaghan is just really great as Charlie. Matthew Fox isn't doing too bad either.

Here's the latest and greatest going on, on my planet.

Well Friday night and Saturday morning left most of Southern Milwaukee dead in it's tracks. 12 inches blanketed the area with drifting increasing the number. Most places closed just so people could stay home and take it easy/slow at digging themselves out.

I wish it had happened Thursday night so I could have stayed home Friday. I still had to be up early since the plow came here around 9am. Again I had to push my car out since the mgr here didn't plow the last time there was asmall snow falling. Yeah you guessed it. I was not happy. It's not that hard - snow falls, call the plow guy or salt the hell out of the parking lot. I think that's pretty easy, don't you?

Anywho, after pushing the car out and waiting about an hour for the plow to finish I just parked myself infront of the TV and enjoyed movies all day. Couldn't tell ya what I all watched but I do know Angus Macfayden is hot. Commercials of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood show him. Folks might remember him from Braveheart - Robert the Bruce. I was able to catch up on a little reading and tentatively do my taxes.

Best part, The Rundown being shown on HBO last night. God that Rock is another hottie. I had forgotten parts of that movie - rebel swinging from tree that cracks him pretty good sending him to the forest floor in one punch. Also love his lines of giving folks two choices and saying he didn't want to hurt the team since they have a decent chance that year. Rosario Dawson is a very pretty lady as well in the movie. She's also pretty great in Alexander and Sidewalks of New York. She should be awesome in Rent when it comes out.

Salt 'N Pepper - no this is not the music group but a movie title. I might just pick this little ditty up since it's a two dvd set.

This is for all those guys out there. It wasn't a bad movie but it wasn't something I completely dug either. I think Pulp Fiction falls into that category as well. :)

Couple more guy movie releases. Bull and Scorsese set. Wow. Feb is loaded with movie releases on DVD and movies opening in theaters.

Here's a traveling story. You might not like it but here it is nonetheless.

Three chicks - me, neurotic apple shape, and a one that is overworked with no break in two weeks.

The people: neurotic could not sit in the back. Overworked needs a nap and will sleep most of the ride down. Me driving, not knowing where the heck I'm going.

The place: House of Blues in Chicago

When: Tuesday in December

What: Kevin Spacey singing Bobby Darin - promoting Beyond the Sea.

The trip: overworked girl didn't remember to carry ID to get into the club, so we have to argue about having the id or drop her off for the night. Neurotic and I were like, let's get the id and get moving. Overworked was like just drop me off cause it's obvious I need to rest.

So the drive of 1/2 hr to Sherwood happened with the two of them kinda arguing about this drive and how much she needs to get out. I was like do we need to argue about this since I'm driving there; "make sure you have the keys before I get ticked about being late."

Drive there was pretty uneventful. We did see the traffic heading into downtown.
"Figure an alternative route otherwise we are not going."
Good thing Lake Drive was an alternate route. One I know well from capital drive. So I dropped off overworked, went up the road to get more gas, turn around and pickup overworked.

Once on the road to Chitown there were not many issues. Overworked stated when she needed to be wakened to get the paint on. Neurotic and I just chatted away a variety of issues. Mostly girly issues.

Once at House we had issues trying to find a decent spot to park ourselves to hear and see it well. Figured hanging by the steps near the reserved was as good as it gets. Security guard was pretty cool. Telling folks it was the reserved and to just find another spot to watch the concert.

This was my first time here. We had a lot of first with the three of us - doing the Ipass (first for all of us), someone else driving was a first for the neurotic, and first for overworked was someone else giving directions. Small firsts but firsts nonetheless.

Spacey was fun to watch and hear that he can actually carry a tune. I guess most can with enough personally training. He was kinda fun to watch on the stage. I would do it again but then again I can on the silver screen when I get a chance.

Drive back was pretty cool as well. The three of us were very awake and really didn't want to leave Chicago. We did only due to work the next day. Christmas decorations on buildings and porches in the area were really beautiful. Enough to talk about coming down another day soon to enjoy the town; hence Titanic exhibit.

How that smarty folks that think I need to report travel experiences. :p=

Winter whiteout

For those that wished for snow, you got it and then some. Granted I don't like cold, hate it really, but it does make the landscape serene. Too bad the cold has to come with it. So for anyone that has to drive pretty far to work, drive careful and slow. Accidents galore today but watch for the weather to change by next week.

Now it's time to complain. Anyone else tired of hearing about the relief for the Tsunami victims? I mean I'm all for giving money or whatever is needed for the victims and realize the entire world has to give and help BUT to hear about it daily is starting to get on my nerves. We all realize/know that there is fraud and don't want to be taken advantage of or have the money not go to the victims. Well that's my complaint anyway.

One thing about getting up early is one can make a huge meal for scrumptious eating later on. Finally got the energy and time to make a tator tot casserole. yumyum!

Question since it's been awhile: Plan on making resolutions for the new year? How many of those will you actually complete? How many from last year did you complete?

There is a WI company that is sending water purification tablets to the affected areas. Click here to order some to be sent there. It's also tax deductible, I think so you can get a start on your tax deductions early.

Of course there is the Red Cross. They even have different denominations for you to select. Makes it easier to donate.

Unicef is also taking donations for the victims/survivor. Go here to see if your company is doing a gift match.

AmeriCares is taking donations. I've not heard of them before but there are always local and worldwide places that are low key until now.

Well I think we all should do what we can to help out from here.

Other sad news, Jerry Orbach of Law & Order fame died before the New Year. I know he was working on the new Law& Order spin off, Law & Order: Trial by Jury. It should have been another success with Lennie Briscoe at the helm of it all.

The seimic activity in the Indian Ocean is just shocking. The death toll keeps increasing and that is not counting those suffering for tainted water yet! It's very sad that some areas that are so beautiful are now becoming grave sites for tourists that have died there.

I find it a bit appauling that folks have known about those plates near Thailand and yet since they are not able to afford the equipment necessary to warn anyone about Tsunamis. WTF! I also like how the terrorist bombs are taking second page to this overwhelming news.

If you haven't heard, Reggie White died and now has a public funeral tomorrow.

Excited about Ukrain elections. I so believe that people really do have a strong voice and can make a difference when banded together.

Maybe the next shuttle run will have a successful touchdown.

The review and update

POTO - Phantom of the Opera review by ME :D

Here's a bit of the story for those that don't know.
A disfigured man lives in the sewers beneath the Opera house. While there he trains and falls in love with one of the chorus girls whom lives in the dorms of the Opera house. He tutors and encourages her voice. He terrorizes those at the Opera house until he gets Carlotta to quit so that Christine can be the soloist.
The ghost damns that Christine have lead roles at the Opera house. Christine then falls in love with Vicomte de Chagny (Raoul) whom she knew as a child. Phantom is enraged by this betrayal

of misplaced love. He kidnaps her for his eternal bride of night. When she shows him what love can feel like, he lets her go. To be with the one person that she truly loves. Anything more here will give the ending away.

So for the movie they stay true to the story. It's pretty much the musical on film. I would have liked more dialog between some of the characters instead of the singing - like Moulin Rouge. The music has been updated a bit but the classic songs, like the Phantom theme, was not touched. Good thing since I don't like some classics messed with.

As for the girls in the movie, men will like the uplifted breasts. Very much like Renaissance Faire. There are also pretty great thigh shoots too for those that like legs. I could not believe Minnie Driver was in the movie. The promos and whatnot said the cast was a bunch of unknowns. There are a couple of other actors that have been in other movies.

Madame Giry played my Miranda Richardson has been in other movies as a supporting character. Raoul played by Patrick Wilson was in Angels in America. Recognized him right away. The actors playing the Phantom and Christine are new to all.

Gerard Butler, Phantom, isn't the most good-looking guy but he has this upper lip thing that just rocks. Michelle Pfeiffer has the same thing. Costumes were true to the period and rich in color. I also loved how the movie went between the "current" time (1919) to the past (1870). It's not a drastic move from one time to another, it's very gradual.

BTW, I wasn't the only one sniffling at the end. It ended very well. The circle was completed.

As for an update.... I recently purchased the Lord of the Rings gift set. I wanted to have the Minas Tirth item. It is quite the heavy little city. The other goal was to have the extended movie. The extra stuff that Peter Jackson puts into the movie helps one understand a character or action the character or characters are doing at a particular moment. It helps those that have not read the book(s), like myself, understand the story better.

The movie was awesome. Also viewed it with the cast commentary which made it a bit more fun cause there is that interaction. I have read about the relationships that were built in the 3 or 4 years while filming in New Zealand. Also there is the little tidbits that come out. Like how they would do this shot in the studio or that shot by themselves. I like hearing about those tidbits from an actor themselves and not flushed out from the hounds of media.

Here's the dealo on the cable since you all are so curious and I love ya for it. The signal coming into the house for the cable was alright but once they did the splitter the signal wasn't strong enough to get the channels. The dude did something right since now I get all channels I pay for and a more clear picture too. I f'in love it.

Saw Kevin Spacey last night at House of Blues - Chicago. HOB is pretty neat inside. He's promoting Beyond the Sea movie and Bobby Darin songs/records. He was great that he trained for the singing role. He sang the songs for the movie and sound track on his own. For those actors that research and really try to get a movie made, I sometimes feel truly honored. I figured it's better than actors just showing up to do their part.

Oh did I mention that I love being off from work?!! It's been great to sleep whenever I want, wake whenever I want and just do nothing all freakin' day!! I love it!!
I hope all kinds of hell is going on at work so the boss actually moves off his butt for decent help. If not, well then I guess the other work will just pile up. HAHAH

Side note, Gacy was one sick fuck! Just watched the movie about his life/murders. I'm so surprised that his mother or someone didn't ever know or catch on to anything. But then again when it's right under your nose (aka out in the open) does one really see the truth? Now there is the question for the "day".

For those that like Marilyn Monroe - TCM is having a tribute for Saturday. I particularly like the Pillow Talk portion of it. Had no idea that she was slated to do that movie. I knew about another that she had started, got fired, fought to get it made then died but nothing about Pillow Talk. Anyway, enjoy.

Oh yeah btw, I have one of her Diamond Collections (vol 1). I RULE!! Vol 2 is still on the list to get.

Constantine - new trailer. you should check it out. :)
Mrs. Congeniality - no trailer yet but strange that Sandra would be willing to do a sequel.
The Ring has a sequel as well - trailer kinda sucks visual but listen carefully.
Delgo - hmmmm. it's loaded with all kinds of folks in that one.
Batman Begins - dark and a bit more mysterious. Bruce looks a little on the uptown side like Val Kilmer did but not someone that would have a deep secret. Sorry but I loved Michael Keaton's version of the character. Dig that Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman are in it.
Thee MOVIE to see in 05.
Another sequel from Indy.

Saw Alexander last night. Had no idea that Rosario Dawson was in it or Val Kilmer. I understand that it was Colin's feature role and all that but to not include Rosario in the promos? O well what is one to do about movie studios. Angelina Jolie is another featured actress but goodness, can you believe she didn't have anything under those "dresses"?

Anywho, it did have some hottie guys in there. I guess there were some pretty women too. I recommend it highly. The story might not be entirely true but it does make for a good watch. Rich color costumes, great eye scars, man on man kissing, and suggestive naughtiness. Did I also mention Anthony Hopkins is in the movie too? It's pretty cool to have it narrated and weaves in the story.

When I was at Mayfair mall, first time in over 6months that I can remember, I picked up by Bro's xmas present. Aren't I a nice sister?!

Must bitch again about that damn cable/RR connection. This morning I have no HBO channels and NO HD channels. I had to "order" IFC since they didn't mention in the last bill that it would be removed and added to another completely different package. I called the day I wasn't able to see it and was told that it was moved to another channel. Flipped to that channel and it was VH1 or MTV2 or something. The yahoo could have told me then it was removed. Damn cable!

Well I'm off to shower. Have a day. I have again had another week as of yesterday.

Here's the question: Like to be spoiled or spoil another? I am thinking of spoiling a person with gifts they were not expecting, not something else.
